"My child may not want to choose this path"
Alia Bhatt, who welcomed a baby girl in November 2022, talked about raising a child in the spotlight.
During a recent interview with Marie Claire, the actress said:
“I am a little concerned about bringing up a child in the public eye.”
She added that she often talks about it to her husband Ranbir Kapoor, her friends, and her family:
“I don’t want there to be a sort of intrusion into my child’s life…
“I have chosen this path, but maybe my child may not want to choose this path when he or she grows up…”
Alia Bhatt also shared her thoughts on making her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone, co-starring Gal Gadot.
The American spy thriller is expected to release in 2023.
She also spoke about how it’s about constantly challenging herself rather than just doing an international movie.
She said: “I’m trying to explore as many arenas as possible.
“It’s not just ticking Hollywood off my list. It’s not just doing any sort of content that comes from anywhere…”
“The idea is to constantly challenge myself and put myself in rooms that are challenging and roles that are uncomfortable.”
Elaborating further, Alia explained: “I think working in a new industry always does that.
“I would also do my first Japanese movie tomorrow if I knew how to speak the language.
“The intention is to continuously push myself so that I’m not bored and I am not stagnating.”
Alia Bhatt announced the news of her daughter’s arrival on Instagram with a post.
She captioned it: “And in the best news of our lives: Our baby is here…and what a magical girl she is.
“We are officially bursting with love – blessed and obsessed Parents! Love, love, love Alia and Ranbir.”
Earlier, she announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post in June 2022.
She married Brahmastra co-star Ranbir Kapoor in April 2022 at their house Vastu with the presence of family members and close friends.
The star couple had been dating for over 5 years before getting married.
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress has multiple films in the line-up.
She had four film releases this year including RRR, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Brahmastra.
Alia also starred in and co-produced Darlings, which was released on Netflix and received positive reviews.
Further, she will soon be seen in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani along with Ranveer Singh.
