"Trust in the process of collaboration."

Ali Sethi is set to launch his highly anticipated second studio album titled Room Jhoom on May 22, 2026.

This new musical project marks a significant creative partnership with the American drummer and talented composer named Gregory Rogove.

The upcoming album initially began its journey as a direct artistic follow-up to his global hit song ‘Pasoori’.

It has since evolved into a unique sonic blend that moves between traditional Sufi influences and rhythmic Caribbean sounds.

The record reflects an interesting cultural exchange between various South Asian melodies and the vibrant Latin American pop styles.

Sethi noted that the production process involved working closely with multiple contributors to create music rooted in deep trust.

“What we made is music rooted in trust: trust in the process of collaboration, and in the power of intuition.”

The singer shared on Instagram how he previously spent a lot of time pursuing absolute precision in his work.

“Truth and beauty were external, somewhere over there, and all I had to do was strive hard enough, practice long enough, to get there”

This rigid mindset led the artist to overlook his own instincts until he started listening to an inner voice.

“I began to loosen, to journey away from my moorings.”

“I was succumbing to new sounds and sensations, yes, but also surrendering to a long buried voice within, which asked me to seek freedom, to lay roots in new soil, to pin my hopes on an expansive horizon.”

Sethi also discussed the challenges of moving away from the established musical frameworks that define his classical training today.

“In our culture broadly, and in our musical tradition specifically, exiting the agreed upon framework is a feint most foul.

“Thou shalt not switch sides, and thou certainly shalt not advertise it on Instagram. Besharam behaya!”

This departure allowed him to explore new creative territories that were previously restricted by the traditional rules of ragas.

He described the entire recording process as one that finally allowed him to bend the rules of his raags.

Room Jhoom follows the successful release of his debut studio album Love Language, which came out in August 2025.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see how this new direction will redefine the sound of modern Pakistani pop music.

The singer looks forward to sharing this personal journey of self-discovery with his loyal listeners around the world.
