"Sexuality keeps changing."
Akanksha Chamola has been in the spotlight ever since she revealed that she’s divorcing her spouse on Lock Upp Season 2.
Her husband is actor Gaurav Khanna, with whom she has been married for nearly a decade.
Later, she revealed that she was bisexual before her marriage to Gaurav.
She also disclosed that she did not want to become a mother in the future.
In the latest episode, Akanksha shared that she is currently asexual.
Akanksha was speaking to Varun Yadav inside the cell where they discussed relationships.
When Varun asked if she would ever remarry in the future, she responded negatively:
“A deep fear has set inside me.”
Her response indicated deep reservations about entering into marriage again in future.
When Varun asked her further about her sexuality and current feelings overall, Akanksha said:
“Sexuality keeps changing. It depends on your life phase.
“I am now going through a divorce, and I don’t want sex now, neither from men nor from women. This is called asexuality.”
Her explanation demonstrated understanding of how life phases affect one’s sexual orientation.
She contextualised her current asexuality within the broader context of her divorce.
Earlier, Akanksha spoke about marriage and revealed important perspectives about motherhood.
She said she does not have a maternal instinct or desire to have children.
“99% want to get married because they want to have kids and take forward the family lineage.
“He is not wrong on his part. And then Bigg Boss happened, and I realised he wants it badly and I am unable to provide him that.
“For me, I don’t want to put him in that situation.”
Her statement highlighted the fundamental incompatibility regarding their goals in marriage.
She was honest about her inability to fulfil his desires for children.
Akanksha had also previously shared that she is bisexual in her personal relationships:
“I like women, I admire and am attracted to them. They are my safe space.
“It is a male-dominated world, and one always gets close to their mother and sisters.
“That comfort one gets from them. The society says that women cannot be friends, but it was never like that for me.
“There was no competition or jealousy.”
Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna got married in 2016 after dating for some time.
They reportedly met and fell in love during an audition for a project.
However, their marriage has faced significant challenges over the nearly decade-long relationship.
