"Today she has pulled my hair and hit me."
Ever since a request for divorce was filed in 2018, Aishwarya Rai and politician Tej Pratap Yadav have been embroiled in a bitter legal dispute.
However, she has made regular accusations against her estranged husband’s family, specifically her mother-in-law Rabri Devi.
Aishwarya has now claimed that she was beaten by Rabri and thrown out of the house.
Following the allegations, Aishwarya’s family and police arrived at the residence in Patna, Bihar.
Based on Aishwarya’s complaint, an FIR was filed. She alleged that Devi had grabbed her by the hair and threw her out of the house.
She explained her ordeal: “Today she has pulled my hair and hit me.
“She has also snatched my phone which had the evidence, after that the female security dragged me and threw me out of the house.
“Rabri Devi herself has hit me. She said ‘your father doesn’t give any money, go to your father. Your money will be kept for my son’.”
Aishwarya went on to say: “I don’t know why do they ask for money. She has thrown me out of the house. I want my phone which has evidence.
“Maybe she had deleted it, even the Court wants evidence. They don’t understand law.”
She explained that the incident stemmed from a set of posters, insulting her father
“Tej Pratap published a party poster, in which he wrote obscene remarks against my father.
“I opposed this and said that whatever is happening with me, I will tolerate it, but why the vulgar remarks against my father?
“At this point, mother-in-law Rabri Devi got angry and started grabbing my hair and hitting me.”
“At the time this was happening to me, the security guards present there did not help me.”
Aishwarya revealed that she will go to court to file a complaint against the Yadav family.
“Rabri Devi doesn’t even give me food. She says that she will bring food only after getting money from my father. This time the limit was reached.
“Now I will go to court against the family and file an FIR. If I have this condition inside my house, how will I stay outside?
“If outside, these people will kill me. Tejashwi does not want to see anything on this matter.
“He does not even speak anything between his mother and brother. These people (Lalu family) consider themselves above the law. ”
This is not the first time that Aishwarya Rai has accused her in-laws of mistreating her.
In September 2019, Aishwarya alleged that she was kicked out of the house by Rabri Devi and her sister-in-law Misa Bharti.
She also claimed that they refused to provide her with any food.
Aishwarya had blamed Misa for her strained relationship with Tej. She stated that whenever she tried to film instances of harassment, staff tried to take her phone.
She said that if her father-in-law, former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav, was there, the matter would have been resolved.
Aishwarya had been spotted outside the residence crying before sitting in her father’s car.
She had accused her husband of being a drug addict while Tej said that compatibility issues were the reason for divorce.
While Aishwarya Rai has sought protection under the Protection of Women Against Domestic Violence Act 2005, she has continued to stay at the Yadav house which has led to speculation about whether there is an actual feud.
