"we thought he’d be perfect for this track."
DJ Ahadadream released his long-awaited single ‘Bass Dhol’ after sitting on the track since early 2023.
The record, created in Miami alongside Skrillex, began when Ahadadream shared music from Raf-Saperra. The collaboration quickly took shape, with all three recognising its potential early.
Ahadadream said: “The beginnings of ‘Bass Dhol’ were back in early 2023, when Sonny invited me to work on music together in Miami.
“That’s when I played him some Raf-Saperra too; he loved the vibe and we thought he’d be perfect for this track.
“Early versions of the track have been getting played since back then, so I’m super happy to finally see this officially going out into the world in its final form.”
Released via Astralwerks, the track blends Punjabi dhol rhythms with high-energy electronic production.
Ahadadream’s rapid drum patterns sit beneath Raf Saperra’s vocals. The track stays rooted in its cultural identity, with the dhol driving the record rather than acting as decoration.
‘Bass Dhol’ follows TAKA, his previous collaboration with Skrillex and Priya Ragu. That release marked a breakthrough moment for Ahadadream.
The track gained momentum after debuting at his first Boiler Room set, where Skrillex appeared on screen during the performance.
It later received major backing from BBC Radio 1, earning Hottest Record, Essential New Tune, and Track ID.
The station had not awarded all three to a single track since Calvin Harris released ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ in 2015.
Industry support followed from leading names including Peggy Gou, Fred again.., Four Tet, Dixon and Chris Lake. The track has since accumulated millions of streams globally.
Ahadadream’s sound draws on influences from the UK, Pakistan, and wider African and South Asian diasporas.
His work reflects these influences without hierarchy, blending them into a cohesive club-focused style.
With established backing from figures such as Skrillex, Fred again.. and Pete Tong, ‘Bass Dhol’ positions Ahadadream for further global recognition. The release arrives at a moment when South Asian sounds are increasingly shaping mainstream electronic music.
Ahadadream also recently released ‘Put That Banger On Next’, a collaboration with Capo Lee. It was one of the first releases on Dialled In‘s record label.
