"they think they have the right to troll you."
Amy Jackson has hit back at the trolls who mocked her transformation, calling it “ugly”.
The actress attended London Fashion Week and shared a few pictures of her look at the event.
However, her appearance shocked fans as she looked noticeably different.
Wearing a red oversized shirt and matching skirt, Amy’s makeup gave the illusion of firmer cheekbones. Her eyes stood out while her lips appeared more prominent.
Her hair was also tied back and she had a micro fringe.
Many social media users accused Amy of having plastic surgery. Some said Amy looked “plastic” while others labelled her look “ugly”.
Some also claimed her look made Amy resemble Cillian Murphy.
Amy Jackson has now responded to haters and revealed she had to “slim down” for a UK-based project.
She explained: “I’m an actor and I take my job very seriously.
“For the last month, I’ve been filming a new project in the UK.
“So, for the character I am playing, I had to slim down and fully commit myself to the role.
“The online outcry from the (mainly male) Indian demographic is quite sad.
“I have worked with male co-stars who had to drastically change their look for a film, and they were highly praised for it.
“The moment a woman does it through unusual hair and makeup that doesn’t conform to their idealism of beauty, they think they have the right to troll you.”
Reacting to the comparisons to Cillian Murphy, Amy said she is “over the moon”.
She also complimented the Irish actor, calling him “chiselled perfection”.
Amy added:
“I’ll get my flat cap and Brummie accent ready for a Peaky Blinders comeback.”
Amy attended London Fashion Week with her actor boyfriend Ed Westwick and she captioned her post:
“Might’ve been late to the LFW party but we went in and out with a bang.
“PERFECT magazine party – so much love to @maisonvalentino and my @valentino.beauty fam.”
Her last acting roles came in 2018, with the Kannada action thriller The Villain and the Tamil sci-fi 2.0.
Amy’s next film is Mission Chapter 1: Acham Enbathu Illayae.
The Tamil film centres on a prisoner in a jail that houses criminals from across the world. He is desperate to meet his daughter who is suffering from a disease and attempts to go back despite several odds.
