"a molestation complaint against me has been filed"
A police case has been registered against television actor Shahbaz Khan after he allegedly molested a teenage girl.
The victim made the complaint at Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai. Police released a statement about the incident on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.
An FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
A statement read:
“Case of molestation filed against actor Shahbaz Khan at Oshiwara Police Station.
“FIR registered under IPC sec 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) & 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of a woman).”
An investigation is underway, however, Khan has not been arrested.
Following the complaint against him, Shahbaz has denied the allegations and claimed that the complainant and her friends tried to attack his daughter.
On the molestation charges, Shahbaz said:
“I don’t know how police at the Oshiwara took the complaint without verifying facts.”
He explained that the girl and 20 other people turned up at his apartment complex and began verbally abusing his daughter.
The girl believed that his daughter had been talking to her boyfriend, which she denied.
A case was not registered, however, a few days later, the girl pushed Shahbaz’s daughter off a moving scooter, causing minor injuries.
This caused Khan to lose his temper and he went to the girl’s house, warning her to stop attacking his daughter.
He stated:
“The next thing I know is that a molestation complaint against me has been filed at the Oshiwara police station and that I have touched the girl inappropriately.
“More shocking the police accepted the complaint without any proof whatsoever.”
Shahbaz revealed that he filed a complaint against the girl.
“I filed a cross-complaint against her but where my daughter was bashed up, that jurisdiction is at Versova police station.
“So in the night, we went there and got the FIR done against the girl and the boys who were abusing her.”
Shahbaz Khan has featured in several Bollywood films and TV shows. Some of his leading TV roles include Chandrakanta, Yug, The Great Maratha and The Sword of Tipu Sultan. Khan has also appeared in Prithviraj Chauhan.
As an actor, Khan is known for playing negative roles and is also famous for his powerful delivery of dialogue.
In terms of films, Shahbaz has featured in Agent Vinod and The Heera.
