"My boyfriend is Indian.”

A video of a white woman defending an Indian man in Canada has gone viral, sparking debate on racism and solidarity.

The clip shows a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) supervisor being harassed by an unidentified man, who is filming the video.

As the harasser films, the woman steps in front of the camera and says:

“Leave him alone! Leave him alone. Really!”

As commuters look on, the man responds: “It’s a free country. I can take the video I want. Don’t touch my phone.”

The woman pushes back: “That is so unnecessary. He is working! Get out of his face.”

The TTC supervisor, wearing a safety vest, tries to calm the situation and asks her to “let it go”.

However, the woman refuses to back down. Visibly angry, she even exclaims:

“My boyfriend is Indian.”

The pair continue shouting, telling each other to “f**k off”.

The argument intensifies before the woman is eventually pulled away, calling the cameraman a “racist motherf****r”.

She gets on a train, however, the harasser gets on the same one and continues shouting at her across the aisle.

The video has been viewed over 850,000 times, with social media users expressing support and questioning the harasser’s motives and background.

One person wrote: “I am so emotional seeing this video. But sad that both those Indian men didn’t even say a word to the harasser.”

Another added: “The recorder’s voice and accent indicate he is not Canadian either.”

A third said: “Okay, respect to her, but the plot twist from ‘I have a boyfriend’ to ‘my boyfriend is Indian’ is amusing.”

Mocking the harasser, a comment read:

“Racism just brings out the human insecurity so cleanly!”

“They don’t like it when one community does better, is more fastidious, is better at doing the jobs they lost because they were too slow or careless and now they turn to racism?

“Just be better at what you were supposed to be man!”

Another agreed: “The guy recording is a total loser. No courage to even show his face.

“Imagine being so pathetic that you go around hunting for someone to be racist with. Sad.”

One person said: “Wow!! His ego must be super fragile if he’s resorting to curses!”
