Victorious was a teen sitcom produced for Nickelodeon that aired from 2010 to 2013.
The show was a musical drama centred on the lives of a group of teenagers at a performing arts school called Hollywood Arts.
Created by Dan Schneider, the series was led by Victoria Justice, who played Tori Vega.
Along with Victoria, the sitcom also starred several other actors, including Daniella Monet and Avan Jogia.
The son of a British-Indian father, Avan played Beck Oliver, while Daniella portrayed Tori’s sister, Trina Vega.
While the other teenagers in the show had various talents, Trina was often considered the least skilled.
Trina believed she could sing well, but she was frequently seen screaming and screeching whenever she attempted to perform.
In October 2025, it was confirmed that Daniella would reprise her role as Trina in an original Victorious spin-off for Netflix.
The new series, titled Hollywood Arts, will feature Trina as an unqualified substitute teacher at her former high school.
Trina, now a grown woman, will clash with and inspire a new generation of students at the school as they seek to find their way and hone their talents.
Hollywood Arts is the second Victorious spin-off after Sam & Cat, which starred Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande.
However, will Avan make a cameo in the show, possibly reprising his part as Beck?
The new show’s other cast members include Alyssa Miles, Emmy Liu-Wang, Peyton Jackson, Erika Swayze, Martin Kamm, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
For now, none of the original cast members from Victorious have been confirmed to return for Hollywood Arts.
However, Avan’s return as Beck would make sense as Trina was shown to have feelings for him in the original show.
In the episode titled Car, Rain and Fire, Trina lies to everyone that Beck likes her and the boys are always fighting over her.
To teach her a lesson, Beck pretends to reciprocate Trina’s feelings and asks to come to Trina’s house for dinner.
Instantly smitten, Trina accepts but makes a disaster of the meal.
Andre Harris (Leon Thomas III) and Robbie Shapiro (Matt Bennett) also turn up to the date and pretend to clash with Beck over Trina’s affections.
The clash leads to a physical fight, which horrifies Trina, and she is shocked to later learn of the boys’ scam.
Meanwhile, speaking of Hollywood Arts, Daniella said:
“Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do.
“Victorious was, in a lot of ways, life-changing for all of us.
“Our cast is forever bonded by that experience, and to think that I have an opportunity to steward anything close to that is a feeling I can’t begin to describe.
“As an actress, producer, and mom, I am so eager to create something we can all be proud to share with the world.”
Daniella will also serve as an executive producer for the show. It is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2026.
Dan Schneider will not be involved in the production of the spin-off, following allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
These allegations were the centre of the documentary, Quiet On Set, where several former Nickelodeon stars detailed their experiences while working as young actors.
In February 2025, Avan Jogia opened up about his time on Victorious.
He said: “My experiences on set with my friends and colleagues were so specific and so different than what I witnessed on the documentary.
“But I also know that two truths can exist at the same time.
“If I look back at my time on that show, and now knowing as an adult, how hard I work, I think we just worked really hard.
“We were on planes all the time to go to openings of things.
“We shot a show five days a week. We were on all summer doing stuff.”
“Now, as an adult looking back at that, I go like, ‘Oh, that’s too much to put on an 18-year-old kid’.
“My experience looking back, trying to discern between what is childhood memory or young peoples’ memory is interesting.
“It’s all fragmented.”
Meanwhile, Daniella alleged that she wanted to get many sexualised scenes that featured her cut from the show.
She also said that “she wouldn’t even wear” some of the clothes she had to as an adult.
Avan Jogia is currently filming for a new erotic thriller series titled 56 Days, where he will be seen as Oliver.
He also announced his engagement to popstar Halsey in September 2024.
