In relation to his marriage to Syeda Dania Shah, Aamir Liaquat has explained why he believes it is better to marry a younger woman.
The TV personality has been in the headlines lately due to his marriage to Dania, who is his third wife.
The age gap, in particular, has been a major talking point as Aamir is 49 while Dania is 18-years-old.
As a result, Aamir has been subjected to a wave of trolling and backlash.
Now, Aamir has spoken about the marriage. He also explained why he married a younger woman.
In an interview on a Pakistani news show, Aamir Liaquat said that in his opinion, it is better to marry a younger woman because the husband is able to care for them and teach her properly.
His opinion prompted backlash in the comments.
Many criticised Aamir Liaquat for his “predatory” comments.
One person said: “He is actually a predator.”
Another commented: “Teach her properly?
“Uh that’s literally so absurd. So he’s actually sugarcoating his words when he actually grooms them in reality.”
A third said:
“AKA better to marry a younger girl so you can control her.”
One person believed that his opinion could have a terrible influence on some of Pakistan’s male population, leading to women feeling unsafe.
“Imagine the disgusting influence you’ll have.”
Aamir Liaquat’s marriage to Dania Shah was unexpected and it was announced just a day after his second wife, Syeda Tuba Anwar, announced she had filed for divorce.
In a statement, Aamir had said: “I would like to request all of my well-wishers, please pray for us, I have just passed the dark tunnel, it was a wrong turn.”
Aamir previously revealed how he met Dania. He recalled:
“When we met for the first time, it was only for 28 minutes.
“It wasn’t a 28-day affair. Nothing of that sort ever happened.
“I visited Lodhran for an event. It was a Milad function organised by an affluent family. I also called Jahangir Tareen Sahab from Lodhran. He later invited me to his farmhouse.
“After Milad, we went to Lodhran’s Pir’s house. I didn’t know him. I discussed some personal affairs with him.
“He told me he will settle me with someone now but the only condition was that I wouldn’t get to see her before. When I met her, it was Dania.
“But when I did meet her, I came to know that when she was a kid and would cry, her parents would put on Aalim Online to calm her.”
Since getting married, the couple has been posting intimate videos.
TikTok videos feature Aamir cuddling up to his new wife, them looking into the camera while lying in bed or lip-syncing to songs.
The videos prompted a jibe from Ahmed Ali Butt who said:
“When you post something from the privacy of your bedroom, just remember you invited the whole world in.
“So don’t complain after, if they don’t leave.”
Aamir fired back in a video, saying: “Give me the password to your brain, I want to install some sense.”
