Viewers of The Apprentice were delighted when they saw a new receptionist sitting behind the desk on the first episode of the 17th series.
Best known for the popular phrase, “Lord Sugar will see you now”, a few people have taken on the role in recent years.
The famous receptionist role in the iconic London office is now in new hands.
A hijabi woman appeared behind the desk collecting the candidate’s business proposals and uttering the famous phrase.
Viewers were delighted with the new appointment, with many praising the representation.
One user posted clapping emojis and wrote:

But who is the new appointment?
The new right-hand woman for Lord Sugar is Khadeejah Khan, who is originally from Kenya but based in London.
She shared her new role on TikTok, posting a video of herself answering the phone.
Khadeejah wrote: “Pov: you’re the hijabi receptionist on The Apprentice.”
She captioned the post: “Lord Sugar is ready for you #theapprentice #theapprenticeuk #lordsugar #receptionist #hijabi #fyp #bbciplayer.”
Khadeejah has since gone viral, with the post being viewed more than a million times.

TikTok users told Khadeejah of their delight at seeing her on the popular show.

Khadeejah’s TikTok features videos of her outings and holidays, including a trip to Kenya to visit her family.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Khadeejah is a graduate tax associate at PwC, having studied accounting and management at Queen Mary University of London.
The Apprentice is known for its diverse representation of candidates.
The 17th series features four British Asian candidates – Avi Sharma, Denisha Kaur Bharj, Shazia Hussain and Sohail Chowdhary.
