Wahaj Ali and Sehar Khan are preparing to share the screen in HUM TV’s upcoming horror comedy Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi.
The channel recently dropped the first teaser on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of a unique story that blends fantasy, romance and comedy.
In the short clip, Wahaj Ali plays a poetry lover living in an old-fashioned house, whose verses appear to mesmerise Sehar Khan’s character.
The twist is that Khan plays a jinn, leading to a quirky romantic setup where supernatural intrigue and light-hearted charm collide.
The show brings together an ensemble cast featuring Arslan Naseer, Romaisa Khan, Sidra Niazi, Laiba Butt, Syed Jibran, and Irfan Motiwala.
Other cast members include Nadia Afgan, Tamkenat Mansoor, Arbaaz Khan, Asif Khan and Nabeel Ahson.
The drama is directed by Saife Hasan, who previously helmed HUM TV’s acclaimed serial Tan Man Neelo Neel (2024–2025)
That production sparked wide debate over vigilantism and wrongful blasphemy accusations.
However, it earned praise for its bold and socially relevant storytelling.
Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi is written by Syed Nabeel and produced under the banner of Momina Duraid Productions.
With this project, the creative team is stepping into challenging territory, attempting to balance the darker edges of horror with comedic timing.
Industry insiders noted that horror comedies are notoriously difficult to execute since leaning too heavily into either risks alienating part of the audience.
For Wahaj Ali, the project feels familiar. In 2017, he starred opposite Neelam Muneer in Dil Nawaz – another supernatural romcom.
In Dil Nawaz, a human and a jinn are entangled in an unusual love story.
Observant fans immediately highlighted the similarities between the new teaser and his earlier role.
Sehar Khan’s casting as the central jinn character has also caught attention.
Known for her lively performances in lighthearted dramas, her involvement signals that the production may prioritise comedic elements.
Filming for the series reportedly began in May 2025. HUM TV has yet to confirm an official airing date.
Director Saife Hasan recently hinted at the progress through social media posts.
He assured the audience that the team is dedicated to delivering a polished product.
The promise of laughter mixed with chills has created anticipation, with many hoping HUM TV manages to balance both tones effectively.
