"I did not see this coming?"
Ushna Shah married Pakistani golfer Hamza Amin earlier in 2023 and according to the actress, she met him thanks to Anurag Kashyap.
The Pakistani actress took to Instagram to share a picture of herself with the Bollywood filmmaker.
Describing Anurag as a “genius” and “a maestro of his craft”, Ushna captioned the post:
“A perpendicular genius; maestro of his craft. An institution, I learnt so much.”
In brackets underneath, Ushna revealed that Anurag played a matchmaker of sorts for her.
She added: “Also the reason I met my husband.”
Seemingly taken at an event, Ushna’s post captioned fans’ attention, with many expressing their intrigue at the revelation that Anurag Kashyap played a part in Ushna’s relationship.
One fan commented: “No way.”
Another said: “I did not see this coming? How do you know him? Any project coming together?”
Others praised Anurag’s work, with one user writing:
“Bollywood’s very own Tarantino (Quentin Tarantino).
“Nawaz (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, and so many other stars were made because of Anurag.”
Another said: “He is an absolute genius.”
The picture also left some wondering if they are working on a project together.
One person asked: “Any project together?”
Ushna Shah married Hamza Amin in February 2023 in a daytime ceremony in Karachi in front of family and friends.
For the wedding, Ushna opted for a red lehenga choli with silver embellishments.
She also wore an embroidered waist belt and a golden matha patti.
Her statement jewellery, bangles and a sleek bun were coupled with classic red lipstick to complete her bridal look.
Meanwhile, Hamza wore an ivory and gold sherwani.
Although Ushna looked like a beautiful bride, some social media users were not happy with her for wearing a lehenga, saying she was incorporating Indian culture.
Ushna was accused of shifting away from Pakistani culture.
Some took issue with Ushna’s exposed midriff while others were unhappy with the actress dancing.
Ushna Shah responded to the haters and told them to mind their own business.
In an Instagram Story, Ushna shared her henna-covered hand and wrote:
“(I’m) Mrs Amin. To those who have a problem with my dress, you weren’t invited, nor did you pay for the shade of my red.
“My jewellery and my jora (are) purely Pakistani. My heart, however, is half Austrian.”
