"the subjects would create lines from the unknown white powder"
US authorities have confirmed the cause of death for travel influencer Anunay Sood.
The Indian content creator, who was based in Dubai, died in Las Vegas on November 4 at the age of 32.
Clark County authorities said Sood died from “combined fentanyl and ethanol toxicity”. His manner of death was ruled accidental.
Sood was staying at the Wynn Las Vegas at the time, according to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report.
According to a police report, Sood died of a “possible overdose”.
A police investigation determined that two women, one of whom was Sood’s partner Shivani Parihar, were with him the morning he died.
At 4 am that day, the trio was on the casino floor, allegedly “looking to obtain some narcotics”, and met a man who sold them what they believed to be cocaine.
After using the drug, the three fell asleep in the hotel room. Both women later woke up and tried to wake Sood but did not find a pulse.
Fire department officials pronounced Sood dead at 7:23 am.

Investigators said “a small clear bag containing an unknown white substance” and a rolled $100 bill were found in the room.
The report said: “It appears the subjects would create lines from the unknown white powder and then use the rolled up bill to snort the substance inside their nose.”
Sood’s final social media posts showed him attending the Las Vegas Concours 2025 car show.
His family confirmed his death in a social media announcement the following day.
The statement read: “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of our beloved Anunay Sood’s passing.
“We kindly ask for your understanding and privacy as we navigate this difficult time. We humbly request you to avoid gathering near personal property.
“Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. May his soul rest in peace.”
Sood had built a major online following through his travel content.
He had more than 1.4 million followers on TikTok and nearly 400,000 subscribers on YouTube. His Instagram page had amassed around 1.5 million fans.
More than 70,000 followers shared messages of condolence in the comments section following the announcement.
Shivani Parihar later paid tribute in a series of emotional Instagram posts.
She wrote:
“I still can’t believe you’re gone. My heart feels heavy, and everything around me just feels empty.”
“I don’t even know how to process this – it doesn’t feel real.
“I don’t know how to move forward without you. One moment we were planning our forever, and now I’m here trying to understand how to live without you. I’ll love you for the rest of my life, even if you’re not here anymore.”

One month after his death, she shared throwback photos of the couple together.
Parihar wrote: “It’s been a month today… A month since I heard your voice, since you laughed that stupid laugh, since you called my name like only you could.
“Everyone keeps telling me time heals… but time has only made me realize how deeply I miss you.”
She said she was “still learning how to live without you”, adding:
“You were my safe space, my home and my everything.
“I just hope you know that I miss you more than I ever said. More than you ever knew. More than these words can ever explain.”
