“It’s great idea to help emerging designers and help highlights them.”
Los Angeles, California was invited to a glamorous soiree of global fashion with the acclaimed House of iKons show.
The LA fashion runway was a special pre-Oscars bash held on Saturday 14th February, 2015.
Founded by Savita Kaye under her Lady K Enterprises banner, the House of iKons has already seen incredible shows in London and Dubai.
Partnering Lady K was ‘For The Stars Fashion House’, founded and owned by Jacob Meir.
The fashion show welcomed the likes of Hollywood actor Wesley Snipes, artists Gavyn Rhone, Sam Sarpong, and Leonidas Georgallis, all impeccably dressed for the glitzy occasion. Even Lady K herself stunned in an elegant black Cary Santiago piece.
Guests sat among the fashion elite and witnessed stunning collections on the runway. Wesley Snipes welcomed the show, saying:
“It’s great idea to help emerging designers and help highlights them.”
Actor and musician Leonidas Georgallis added:
“Really impressed with the event. It was really my first fashion event in LA and I was completely immersed by the energy and vibe that is House of iKons.”
Dubbed as the next big thing after Usher, Gavyn said: “Loved the event. Great opportunity to network and enjoy. Very multicultural and impressed with the designers from around the world. My favourite designer was WA Luxury Leather.”
Entertainment came from the likes of RnB artist Sam Sarpong who performed on the night. Sam is also the face of Boy London as well as being a Dolce and Gabbana model.
Dawn Robinson, lead singer of En Vogue also performed. Later she said: “I loved the diverse collection from around the world.”
The ethos of the House of iKons is to offer a platform for designers to showcase their innovative collections to a global audience.
Carefully selected for the show are a variety of upcoming and established brands from both East and West.
Of them include Egyptian designer Marmar Halim, who is a proven creative when it comes to high-end fashion. Her collection oozes colourfully flowing cocktail dresses and chic evening wear.
Also showcasing was Francesca Marotta, originating from Sicily. Her collection takes on theatrical cuts and regal fabrics that have been reconstructed through innovative methods and imagination.
Indian designer Sherin Mansoor fused together South Asian designs with a Western touch. Taking Mughal elegance and royalty, her outfits have a modern twist for the self-empowered female.
Johnny Bagadiong debuted the runway with his collection at House of iKons London 2014. His cutting edge collection for both men and women is a playful mix of geometric design and trendy cuts.
Michael Wallace has taken the UK fashion scene by storm with his Goth-inspired collection, using mainly black and white silhouettes.
Michael said: “I usually design dark and black collections to let me macabre side out. But I wanted to challenge myself, so I made something soft and beautiful but still paid homage to my usual edgy style by adding a bit of mystery to the designs.”
London based Izelia hails from Sierra Leone and her stylish collection was inspired by African prints. Catering for the high street, she takes traditional cuts and gives them a contemporary and flattering finish.
Catriona Hanly adores all things bold and beautiful, captured from her global travels. Taking only high-quality materials, she creates a luxury finish to all her outfits.
Rose Perkins of Fashionistas stood out from the crowd for all the right reasons. Dark and edgy, Rose uses hints of gold and green alongside metal detailing and feathers. Her unique collection is described as ‘very avant-garde meets classy bespoke’.
WA – Werner Luxury Leather uses the precision and dexterity of German tailoring. The collection takes inspiration from sculptural design, transforming this into a wearable, fashion friendly design.
As Brand Ambassador, Oliver T. Kowallik says: “The leather texture gives a feel of softness, which makes it captivating.”
Finally, showstopper Albert Martincich is an expert at couture wear for women. Originating from Cape Town, South Africa, each of his stunning collections is inspired by a particular theme. For House of iKons 2015, it was ‘Beauty and the Beast’, taking on high fashion with a fairy tale touch.
For Lady K, these designers represent the future of fashion and each of their stunning collections wowed audiences at the House of iKons Los Angeles show. By opening up the ‘global’ fashion industry for all, House of iKons presents the ‘next generation of iKonic designers’.
And the attention these designers have received from previous shows has been unprecedented. Among media attention and an insurge of new clients, the designers have even see some of their showstoppers grace the Oscars and Emmy’s red carpets.
With that in mind, fashionistas can mark the next set of iKonic dates on their calendars. House of iKons will return to London Fashion Week in aid of the Princes Trust on September 20th, 2015.
This will be followed by House of iKons Dubai on November 14, 2015 and the House of iKons Los Angeles pre-Oscars on February 14, 2016.
Lady K is also pleased to announce that House of iKons will be going even more global with further shows in Paris, Mumbai and Moscow, all expected for 2016.
Having rapidly gained attention, House of iKons is going from strength to strength. We cannot wait to see what the coming years hold for Lady K and her truly iKonic fashion house!
