Sidhu Moose Wala’s father has broken his silence on his wife’s pregnancy.

In February 2024, fans were stunned when it was reported that the late singer’s mother Charan Kaur was expecting a child at the age of 58.

She had been out of the public eye for six months.

The reported pregnancy came after Charan had successfully undergone IVF treatment. The baby is reportedly due in March 2024.

Sidhu’s father Balkaur Singh has now addressed the matter.

In a statement on Facebook, he neither confirmed nor denied the news, but rather alluded to “rumours” about the family, suggesting that the pregnancy might not be true.

The message read: “We are thankful to Sidhu’s fans, who are concerned about our family.

“But we plead there are so many rumours going around about our family, but they are not to be believed.

“Whatever news is there, the family will share with you all.”

Sidhu Moose Wala had been the only child of his parents.

Tragically, he was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, 2022.

He was reportedly assassinated by six assailants when travelling in his vehicle with his cousin and a friend.

His death is an ongoing investigation with 32 suspects being named. So far, 25 arrests have been made.

His fans and supporters gathered in Moosa village to seek “justice” for him. The march was also attended by Sidhu’s mother.

On Sidhu’s birth anniversary in 2023, Charan Kaur wrote an emotional tribute to her son.

She said: “Happy birthday son, on this day, my wishes and prayers came true when I held you for the first time, felt in the warmth of the bosom.

“And I came to know that Akal Purakh gave me a son.

“Blessings, I hope you know there was a slight redness on the small feet, who did not know that these small steps had travelled the whole world while sitting in the village, and thick eyes with which you would see and recognise the truth.

“They did not know that you were giving the generation of Punjab a different view of the world.”

Despite his untimely death, Sidhu Moose Wala’s legacy continues to live on, with several tracks released posthumously.

The latest is ‘Drippy‘, featuring Mxrci and AR Paisley.

Taking inspiration from various genres, ‘Drippy’ blends drill, hip-hop and traditional Punjabi folk tunes.

It debuted in the top 10 of the Canadian Hot 100.
