Mr Singh alleged that his son was under constant threat

Balkaur Singh, the father of the late Sidhu Moose Wala, has claimed that the Punjab government are to blame for a grave security lapse that led to his son’s murder.

The singer was shot dead in the Mansa district of Punjab on May 29, 2022, and an investigation is ongoing.

Balkaur Singh has now made several accusations against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his government.

In addition to claiming that a security lapse of his son led to his murder, Mr Singh expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of the investigation.

Mr Singh said that the government appears to be completely clueless and is only basing their investigation on the claims made by gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.

Mr Singh alleged that his son was under constant threat during the election campaign.

He said that instead of increasing his security, the Mann government cut it and left Sidhu Moose Wala a sitting duck.

According to Mr Singh, this eventually led to his death.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa is supporting Mr Singh’s allegations.

He has demanded an inquiry into identifying those who decided to cut down Sidhu’s security. Mr Randhawa said this was a grave intelligence failure on part of the Mann government.

Mr Randhawa said: “While the assassins were very much in his village and surrounding and recceing Moosewala’s house, the Mann government decided to withdraw his security at that time only.”

Mr Randhawa also asked how come the intelligence could not conclude that Sidhu Moose Wala was under such a serious threat.

He added that the assailants may have been planning the murder for some time.

Despite that, the Punjab Police did realise how serious of a threat there was to Sidhu Moose Wala’s life.

Mr Randhawa said that had the police acted responsibly, Sidhu’s life would have been saved.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Ankit Sirsa was arrested at a bus terminal in Delhi.

He is a member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang and police have described him as the “main shooter” in the singer’s murder.

Sirsa allegedly shot Sidhu at close range, firing six bullets.

His associate Sachin Virmani has also been arrested.

Bishnoi is the main accused and is believed to have planned the murder from behind bars.
