It has been reported that orders to have Sidhu Moose Wala shot could have been made from within prison.

It is believed that Lawrence Bishnoi plotted the conspiracy from Tihar Jail and was in frequent contact with Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar.

The Punjabi singer was fatally shot on May 29, 2022, whilst out in the village of Jawaharke, Mansa, Punjab.

Following the shooting, Bishnoi and Brar allegedly helped his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi out of India.

They also helped Sachin Bishnoi escape the country.

It was reported that this was so they would not be under the police’s radar during the investigation.

Sources say that when Bishnoi was questioned by Delhi Police, it was revealed that the plot to murder Sidhu Moose Wala first came to fruition following the murder of Vicky Middukhera, who was killed in August 2021.

But an assassination attempt failed because Sidhu was surrounded by his security team.

According to Lawrence Bishnoi, Sidhu was not only associated with his rival gang, but he used to challenge them with his songs.

Police also discovered a clue which led to 10 arrests, including Lawrence Bishnoi. Four shooters were also identified.

Officers recovered a fuel receipt from the Bolero car that was used in the crime, which was found 13 kilometres from the scene.

The receipt was dated May 25, 2022.

A police team was sent immediately to the Fatehabad-based petrol station. The intention was to recover CCTV footage.

From the footage, the police identified one person, Priyawarat of Sonipat, who was possibly a shooter.

Officers said the name of the Bolero’s owner was traced from its engine and chassis number.

Police later tracked all the vehicles used in the crime – a Mahindra Bolero, Toyota Corolla, and a white Maruti Suzuki Alto.

Those who used the Corolla reportedly stole the white Alto at gunpoint and travelled towards the village of Dharamkot in the Moga district, Punjab.

The Alto was found abandoned on May 30.

In addition to the main accused Lawrence Bishnoi, the police have arrested nine others.

All have been accused of conspiracy, providing logistic support, conducting recce and harbouring the shooters.

The suspects have been identified as:

  • Charanjit Singh
  • Sandeep Singh
  • Manpreet Singh
  • Manpreet Bahu
  • Saraj Mintu
  • Prabhdeep Sidhu
  • Monu Dagar
  • Pawan Bishnoi
  • Naseeb

The gangsters have claimed responsibility for the murder through Facebook posts.
