"people do stop us and say we look like siblings or partners.”

Shaista Lodhi revealed that she is often mistaken for her son’s girlfriend.

On Hasna Mana Hai, one member of the audience asked Lodhi if she has ever been mistaken as anything but the mother of her children.

She then revealed that during outings with her children, strangers often approach them, commenting on how they resemble a couple or even siblings.

Lodhi said: “If you’ve had kids at a young age then is that also my fault? Apparently that becomes a taunt here too.

“This is like a usual routine for us now.

“Whenever I go out for groceries or something with my kids, people do stop us and say we look like siblings or partners.”

She went on to say that she takes pride in her appearance and to be mistaken as anything but the mother of her children is a testament to her.

Shaista Lodhi added: “Why should I lie about it? It feels good that I have maintained myself even at this age.”

Lodhi also spoke about the condescending nature of individuals towards women who maintain their appearance as they get older.

She detailed her strict routine that contributes towards her youthful appearance and her commitment to self-care.

She also revealed that as she grew older she realised that she had taken on many of her mother’s characteristics.

Earlier in 2023, Shaista Lodhi hit back at a troll who age-shamed her and criticised how much she earned.

She was also criticised for her dress sense and was told that the way she dressed was not appropriate for her age group.

The troll posted: “Don’t you think you shouldn’t post such pictures because you’re so old?

“Doesn’t matter if you’re earning well. You can’t hide your age. Have some shame.”

Lodhi fired back:

“Also, please stop being delusional. Nobody is hiding their age, and it doesn’t have anything to do with earning well my dear.”

Shaista Lodhi began her career as a radio jockey with the intention of pursuing a news reading career, before being approached to become a TV host.

She has since made herself a name in the entertainment industry as a popular morning show host and also as an actress.

She has appeared in dramas such as Khan and Pardes.

Alongside her acting talents, Lodhi is also a cosmetologist and aesthetic medicine specialist, running her own clinic.

Sana is from a law background who's pursuing her love of writing. She likes reading, music, cooking and making her own jam. Her motto is: "Taking the second step is always less scarier than taking the first."
