"50 to 70 people used to share one bathroom."
Salman Khan opened up about his jail experiences during a visit to his brother Sohail Khan on the reality show Alliance.
The 60-year-old star made a candid and rare admission about the conditions he faced during his time behind bars.
He revealed that around 50-70 inmates were forced to share a single cramped bathroom facility.
While speaking directly to Sohail, Salman said:
“Years ago, when I went to jail, we had bars in front of us.
“It was such a small area; 50 to 70 people used to share one bathroom.
“It was an Indian-style commode; there would be lizards in there sometimes.
“It used to be filled to the brim.”
The unfiltered account gave viewers a striking and unexpected window into the difficult realities the actor once faced in custody.
Salman has faced four separate stints in jail, all connected to the blackbuck and chinkara poaching case that has followed him for decades.
His first period in custody came in 1998 and lasted three days, followed by a six-day stint in the year 2006.
He was jailed again in 2007 for another six days before his most recent two-day custody period took place in 2018.
His visit to Alliance comes at a particularly turbulent and emotionally charged time for younger brother Sohail inside the house.
Sohail, 56, has been visibly struggling since the eviction of his ex-wife Seema Sajdeh from the competition in recent episodes.
Fellow contestant Arslan Goni attempted to help by repeatedly urging Sohail to stay focused on the game around him.
However, his constant encouragement eventually wore down Sohail’s patience and triggered an emotional response.
Sohail kicked down a door and broke it open entirely before being removed from headquarters.
He was taken out of the house for several hours while the remaining contestants processed what had just unfolded.
When Sohail returned, Arslan offered him an apology, but the confrontation between the two was far from over.
He said: “When we came in first, you told me Seema was voting for you from the third day.
“Then you started to plan on evicting her; she herself told me this.”
Arslan denied the allegations and offered another round of apologies.
Salman’s visit brought some emotional relief to what has been a deeply difficult stretch for his younger brother.
The star also made a comment during his visit that quickly caught the attention of viewers watching the episode closely.
He remarked that he believed Riteish Deshmukh’s job appeared to be in some danger.
The comment was widely interpreted as a lighthearted and playful jibe at Deshmukh, who currently hosts Netflix’s reality show, Lock Upp.
Many viewers took it as a hint that Salman Khan himself might be eyeing a hosting role in the competitive reality television space.
