He took to his Instagram to share a video with his fans of him performing the challenge.
In the video, a bare-chested Salman is in his gym and prepares himself by praying.
The Bharat star then spins but instead of kicking off the lid, the actor blows off the cap and takes the bottle.
He then gave an important message: “Save water.”
Salman then drank the entire bottle of water before walking away. The actor’s Instagram video was captioned with: “Don’t thakao paani bachao.”
The challenge has been seen as a fun viral trend but Salman used it as an opportunity to deliver a simple but important message.
He has urged people to save water especially as India is responsible for wasting huge amounts of water.
According to India Education Diary, the average Indian wastes up to 45 litres each day.
Water crisis is the biggest fear in society and the situation is only getting worse every day.
Salman’s message is one of the reasons why he is so popular as he is known for his philanthropy and is always given out positive messages.
