“No, leave it now. Go.”
Pakistani cricketer Saim Ayub, who is currently in London for a fundraising event, found himself in an uncomfortable situation because of a fan’s insulting behaviour.
A video of the fan’s rude behaviour towards the cricketer went viral.
The video shows a female fan approaching Ayub for a picture, insisting that her friends take a full-length shot of them together.
He stood with her and had his picture taken but the woman persisted with more demands.
Despite the cricketer’s visible discomfort, the fan went on with it.
As Ayub eventually walked away, she reacted dismissively, saying:
“Nothing will happen to you if you stop for a picture for two minutes.”
Saim Ayub paused in his tracks and turned around, apparently offering the woman if she wanted to take more photos.
She rudely said: “No, leave it now. Go.”
The woman turned back to chat with her friends. She later labelled his behaviour as “rude.”
The video sparked outrage on social media, with many fans defending Ayub and condemning the fan’s actions.
Supporters praised the young cricketer for his restraint, noting that he handled the situation with grace.
One Facebook user commented: “Saim’s parents raised him well. He could have responded negatively, but instead, he chose to walk away.”
Another wrote:
“This lady treated our respected cricketer poorly. Someone should teach her some manners.”
Many fans expressed sympathy for Saim Ayub, emphasising that celebrities deserve respect and personal space, even in public settings.
While Ayub’s awkward interaction gained traction, his brief encounter with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir at the same fundraiser also caught public attention.
The two met at an event for the Sahara Trust, where Aamir extended her best wishes to the cricketer after his recent injury.
She posed for a picture with him and wished him a speedy recovery, a moment that quickly spread across social media.
Ayub has been in London continuing his rehabilitation after an injury sustained on January 3, 2025.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that after undergoing MRI scans, X-rays, and medical evaluations, he was ruled out for ten weeks.
His participation in Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand, scheduled from March 16 to April 5, 2025, remains uncertain.
It will depend on Saim Ayub’s recovery and clearance from medical assessments.
His injury has already impacted his international commitments, forcing him to miss the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
Fans remain hopeful that the young cricketer will return to full fitness soon and resume playing for Pakistan.
