"What are we doing about Bollywood?"

As the conflict between Israel and Palestine rages on, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak slammed Bollywood’s silence on the matter.

The Pakistani model-turned-actress took to her Instagram Story to convey her thoughts.

Saheefa wrote: “While in the West everyone is blocking Hollywood celebrities and influencers, what are we doing about Bollywood?

“Our neighbouring country, where we are eager to work, and where we speak so highly of them in our interviews, NONE of them have spoken against the ongoing genocide.”

Saheefa added that Pakistani artists should stop making such a big deal out of the Indian film industry.

She continued: “Please stop wishing them [on their] birthdays and hyping them up.

“Their government has banned us from working ‘for them’.

“In the past, we were rarely offered decent roles and now during this genocide, the whole of India is silent.

“It’s time we focus on our craft, make better films and dramas, and stop seeking validation from them or anyone.”

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak slams Bollywood's Silence on Palestine - 1Admittedly, not many A-listers from Bollywood have spoken up on Palestine.

However, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak’s statement was not entirely accurate.

In October 2023, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja took to her own Instagram Story to share quotes on Palestine and Gaza.

In one story, she shared a statement by Nicholas Kristof.

It read: “If we owe a moral responsibility to Israeli children, then we owe the same moral responsibility to Palestinian children.

“Their lives have equal weight.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas also posted about the incident on Instagram.

Swara Bhaskar added: “Bombing kids is not self-defence. Stop the genocide.”

In recent times, this is not the only instance wherein a Pakistani star has spoken against Bollywood.

In April 2024, Nadia Khan accused Indian actors of being insecure.

She specifically mentioned the trio of Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Nadia said: “When our actors, people like Fawad [Khan], started working in India and gaining massive popularity, some of India’s biggest actors became insecure.

“They made it an issue and got them banned.

“It wasn’t like the politicians had issues with our actors.”

“It was the Indian stars who felt threatened. They knew that the Indian public would go gaga over our stars because they’re actually talented.

“The Khans are insecure. Because they don’t have stars in this age bracket there.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak was last seen in the television series Rafta Rafta (2024).
