Riz Ahmed hosted the premiere for his new series Bait, which debuts on Amazon Prime Video very soon.

The highly anticipated comedy show is scheduled to officially launch for global audiences on March 25, 2026.

This glamorous event gathered a vibrant mix of South Asian musicians and creative professionals from across the global diaspora.

Several notable Pakistani stars attended the premiere, including the talented musicians Natasha Noorani and the famous singer Arooj Aftab.

Noorani shared highlights of the evening on her Instagram account with the caption stating:

“Last night was a movie fr.”

Her photos showcased various appearances alongside other artists such as Veyah and the legendary singer Jay Sean.

She also posed with the popular creator Anik Khan and the social media personality named Kareem Rahma during the night.

Cultural commentator Jasmine Wahi shared several moments featuring the prominent comedian Hasan Minhaj and the creative figure Shruti Raya. She said:

“This isn’t an ad, I just really enjoyed the show and the tamasha! And creative work that highlights the specific experiences of the Subcontinental diaspora should be amplified (when they’re good)!”

The chart-topping singer Jay Sean performed his brand new track called ‘Pulling Me Back’ for the excited crowd.

Ahmed previously explained that the title of his show comes from a specific term used in modern British slang.

In this context, the word bait means explicit and not subtle, which contrasts with the personality of the protagonist.

The main character is a struggling British Pakistani actor named Shah Latif, who is played by Riz Ahmed himself.

The plot follows the character as he auditions for the highly coveted role of the iconic spy, James Bond.

The name of the series also refers to the idea of entrapment or a hook used to catch people.

This famous film franchise often teases top British talent with the promise of achieving worldwide fame and great notoriety.

Ahmed shared that Bait explores the crazy contradictions between the public and private lives of modern-day creative individuals.

The talented actor also mentioned that “life sometimes feels like one long audition” for many people in his position.

The character Shah is perpetually on the cusp of a total nervous breakdown throughout the duration of the show.

The show asks if the protagonist can stop performing for others long enough to actually survive his difficult life.

Fans can look forward to seeing how Riz Ahmed handles this complex role when the show premieres on Amazon Prime Video.
