Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon has disclosed the struggles she faced while shooting for the iconic song, ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ (1994) including being on her periods, bruises, dancing barefoot and more.
Fans will remember Raveena donned in a yellow saree while dancing seductively to the hit song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ from the 1994 film, Mohra.
Alongside the actress was actor Akshay Kumar. The song became a chartbuster in 1994 and continues to be played at joyous occasions.
Dancing barefoot in the rain, Raveena set audiences hearts racing with her perfectly executed dance moves and beautiful look.
Yet, what many will be unaware of is the struggled faced by the actress while shooting for ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ (1994).
According to an interview with Pinkavilla, Raveena Tandon revealed her gruelling experience of filming ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ (1994).
The actress stated they shot for “four days at a construction site” and had to dance barefoot with stones and nails on the ground.
She continued to mention she caught a fever and a cough because the water in the tank was extremely cold.
As a result of this, she was given “honey and ginger” on the set to help her recover.
Raveena went on to mention she “bruised” her knees while twirling on her knees as her saree was thin.
To make matters worse, Raveena was also on her period while shooting for ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ (1994).
Amidst the struggle, Raveena questioned how she would be able to look sensuous for the song.
According to a previous interview with the Asian Age, Raveena spoke about dancing in a provocative song. He said:
“I was never comfortable doing provocative songs. But this time, I was convinced that it would be okay. And, it was.”
“The song was fabulous and the choreography, though erotic was never suggestive or vulgar. I’d never do anything even remotely off-colour in my entire career.”
‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ (1994) is set to be remixed for Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film, Sooryavanshi opposite Katrina Kaif.
Speaking about her love for remixes, Raveena said:
“They add new life to the song. I enjoy them, I loved ‘Sheher Ki Ladki’, ‘Mast Mast’, ‘Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare’.
“I’ve performed to so many of them. And I end up owning them again so its win-win situation for me.”
