Sawant siblings allegedly gave Shailesh a post-dated cheque

An FIR has been registered against Rakhi Sawant and her brother Rakesh, accusing them of fraud.

This comes shortly after Rakhi walked away from the Bigg Boss 14 finale with Rs. 14 Lakh (£13,700).

The fraud incident goes back to 2017. The FIR was registered at Vikaspuri Police Station by a retired banker named Shailesh Srivastava.

Reportedly, Shailesh met Rakesh and another man named Raj Khatri with the intention of opening a dance institute.

Shailesh and Rakesh also allegedly planned to produce a film based on Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s life.

Under the assurance that Rakhi would also be involved, Shailesh gave Rakesh Rs. 6 Lakh (£5,900).

The Sawant siblings allegedly gave Shailesh a post-dated cheque worth Rs. 7 Lakh (£6,800). When he reached the bank, the cheque bounced due to a false signature.

Shailesh tried to call the pair, however, they allegedly did not answer.

As a result, he filed an FIR against the Sawant siblings and Raj for fraud.

Rakhi and Rakesh Sawant have now reacted to the allegations against them.

Rakhi revealed that she has decided to take the legal route. She plans to file a defamation suit against the complainant.

She told SpotboyE: “It has nothing to do with me, my legal team will file a defamation suit soon.

“This is a publicity stunt and our legal team will take action.”

Rakesh gave his side of the story and explained what unfolded between him and Shailesh:

“I invested Rs. 3 Lakhs (£2,900) for the renovation of the institute in 2017.

“But just before we could open the institute, I had to return to Mumbai for my mother’s stomach operation.

“I was here for a month and when I went back to Delhi, I got to know the place was rented to some Sardar ji.

“So, when I had come back to Mumbai for my mother’s operation in a hurry, I had forgotten my cheque books and some more stuff back in Delhi, which I got to know have been misplaced.

“In fact, I had even filed a complaint for my missing cheque books and some more stuff. I had even informed my bank to stop all withdrawals.”

When asked about his sister’s alleged involvement, Rakesh replied:

“Rakhi has nothing to do with all this. She has no clue about the deal.

“I called Shailesh so many times on returning to Delhi, at that time they never took my calls.

“And now, when Rakhi has come out of the Bigg Boss house, they are using this opportunity to gain publicity by presenting my old cheque books and claiming that I have done a fraud.”
