The PSL 2025 is set to resume on May 17, 2025, following a temporary suspension caused by heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the news on May 13.

He stated that the remaining eight matches, including the final, will be held from May 17 to May 25.

The decision comes after a brief but alarming escalation in cross-border hostilities that led to an Indian drone crashing near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

In response, the league was initially moved to the UAE and then postponed entirely for security reasons.

As tensions eased and a ceasefire agreement was reached, the PCB and franchise teams began efforts to revive the tournament and bring players back.

Naqvi shared the update on X:

“Let the aura take over as we unite and celebrate the spirit of cricket.”

Franchises are now in contact with their overseas players, who were flown out of Pakistan over the weekend amid safety concerns.

Their availability remains uncertain, and it is reported that the final schedule depends on confirmation from overseas players.

Rawalpindi is expected to host all remaining matches, but the full match timetable is still pending official approval from Naqvi.

There are four league-stage matches left in PSL 2025.

This includes key fixtures: Karachi vs Peshawar, Lahore vs Peshawar, Islamabad vs Karachi, and Multan vs Quetta.

These will be followed by four playoff matches, the details of which will be released once all teams confirm player availability.

Quetta Gladiators currently top the points table with six wins from nine games, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the title.

In contrast, Multan Sultans have had a poor season with only one win and are already out of the playoff race.

Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League is also set to resume on May 17 and will run until June 3, 2025.

This overlap could impact how many top-tier foreign cricketers return to PSL 2025.

With excitement building and security conditions improving, fans are eager for the league to restart.

However, the success of the remaining matches will largely depend on the return of international stars and how well the PCB manages logistics.

For now, all eyes are on May 17 when the league hopes to reignite the cricketing passion that was abruptly paused.
