Priyanka Chopra has revealed details about when her next Bollywood film is.
The actress not been in a Bollywood film since 2019 but she caused a surprise on social media when she announced that she has a Bollywood project in the pipeline and that it is just around the corner.
She hosted a Q&A session on Twitter and one curious fan asked about her next Bollywood film.
Priyanka kept her answer cryptic and instead of revealing details about the project, she just said:
“Next year.”
Her response confirmed to netizens that a new Bollywood film is in the works, however, it is not known what the film will be about.
Priyanka’s last Bollywood film came in 2019 with The Sky is Pink.
Before that, she played a police officer in the 2016 film Jai Gangaajal.
The actress is coming off the success of her Netflix film The White Tiger, which has received an Oscars nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
In Hollywood, Priyanka Chopra has finished shooting for the romantic drama Text For You and she is also set to star in the fourth instalment of The Matrix.
On The White Tiger’s Oscars nomination, Priyanka said:
“It means a lot to me, I am so proud of the whole team.
“We believed in the story collectively and, importantly, the story needed to be translated into a film that would connect with a wider audience.”
Despite the award nomination, Priyanka revealed that her involvement is not all about the awards.
“We had already done the hard work by the time the awards rolled by, so I don’t think it affected my role as an actor or producer in any way for this film.
“For me, as an actor and a producer, the audience has always been my end goal.”
“Nominations and wins – especially awards like the Oscars and Baftas – are truly amazing but it’s not why I pick projects.”
She listed “content stories, ones that resonate, ones that need to be told, ones that entertain a wide global audience” as her primary intent when it comes to filmmaking.
In addition to films, Priyanka has other ventures.
She launched her memoir Unfinished, which has become a New York Times Bestseller. Priyanka has also opened her new Indian restaurant called SONA.
Priyanka was also interviewed by Oprah Winfrey where she opened up on her initial thoughts about Nick Jonas as well as unfortunate encounters with filmmakers during her early career.
