Maini replaces Stuart Robinson, who has led the company’s operations in the country since 2016.

The appointment of Maini comes as the company pushes for further growth in India as part of its new business strategy, due to begin in 2022.

The growth of the company in India is steadily growing and the 2022 strategy hopes to continue that growth into new sectors.

One of the main strategies is to diversify the business to deliver more infrastructure work.

Pawan Maini has over 25 years experience in construction, with the last 17 primarily being spent working for multinational companies in the Indian market.

He previously had senior leadership positions in India with companies such as engineering group Ramboll and the International Finance Corporation.

Pawan’s appointment and his vast experience will help the company grow significantly in India, leading up to 2022.

Pawan Maini has led a range of high profile infrastructure projects in India.

These include Terminal two of Mumbai Airport, the Agra Lucknow Expressway and the Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail.

Chief Operating Officer Jason Millett said: “Pawan has worked on some of India’s most complex projects and programmes.”

“He has first-hand experience of successfully growing multi-national construction and infrastructure businesses in India.”

“His appointment is a huge step for our Indian business and I’m sure he will help lead the team.”

Mace currently employs 180 people in India and are working on projects in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

They represent clients such as Ambani owned Reliance Industries, real estate developer DLF, healthcare group Piramal Group and M3M India.

Worldwide, the company has approximately 4,500 employees across five continents.

The company has a turnover of over £2 billion (Rs. 1.8 Kharab).

Pawan Maini said: “Mace has a well-earned reputation as a global consultancy and construction company.”

“I am very proud to be appointed as the country’s new Country Manager.”

“The team in India are already delivering fantastic projects and exceptional results for their clients.”

“I am looking forward to working with them as we plan and deliver the next phase of Mace’s growth.”

In the UK, Mace has been part of major projects in London.

They include the London Eye back in 2000 and The Shard, which was completed in 2012.

Mace is also responsible for building Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium, set to be completed in 2018.
