Directed by Mahesh Pailoor, the English-language drama explores family, love, resilience and gratitude through the experiences of an Indian-American man confronting a life-changing diagnosis.
The film stars Kapil Talwalkar as Shalin alongside Olivia Liang, Faran Tahir, Meera Simhan and Tom Everett Scott.
Paper Flowers follows Shalin Shah, a compassionate graduate from the University of Southern California who decides to leave behind familiar expectations and pursue meaningful work overseas.
Instead of following a conventional career path, he joins the Peace Corps in Peru, determined to make a positive impact while embracing a future shaped by purpose rather than expectation.
However, his plans are suddenly interrupted when a persistent cough leads to the devastating discovery that he has synovial sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Forced to return home, Shalin reconnects with his family, longtime girlfriend Fiona, and close friends while facing an uncertain future with courage and honesty.
As Shalin’s outlook evolves, he reflects on love, gratitude, and mortality with remarkable optimism despite the challenges placed before him.

With a runtime of 100 minutes, the family drama has not yet received an official age rating.
