"Tech and cosmetics should come together like this more often. The possibilities are endless with this mirror!"
Society is placing more emphasis on appearances and women have been given the unenviable task of trying to look amazing all day everyday.
It is almost as if they need to look like they are about to star alongside Shahrukh Khan in a new Bollywood blockbuster.
However, as much as women dream about starring alongside King Khan, only a select few have the chance to do so while looking flawless.
Don’t fear for help is at hand to give you the movie star looks without needing to be a movie star, thanks to Panasonic’s ‘Smart Mirror’.
The mirror was unveiled at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany. It is the largest tradeshow for consumer goods and home appliances.
The smart mirror is essentially a large window panel that users can sit in front of as it analyses your face to suggest beauty tips and tricks to help prevent the showing of wrinkles.
The way the mirrors works is that it uses the in built sensors and facial recognition software as in their flagship cameras, to create a large hologram image of your face before assessing it for areas that the mirror may feel you need to work on.
The mirror catches wrinkles, blemishes, bags under your eyes and even smile lines, for those all important photos during your wedding amongst hundreds of your closest family members and those you’ve never seen before.
While a piece of glass analysing your face and picking out areas of possible improvement may seem overwhelming, this is only half the story, it gets better.
Make-up lover, Jasmine says: “Tech and cosmetics should come together like this more often. The possibilities are endless with this mirror!”
Once the mirror has finished analysing, it will provide recommendations on ways you can work on the key areas identified.
For example if the mirror had picked up on any wrinkles, it would highlight the wrinkles on your face and suggest methods to hide them by recommending online retailers where you can purchase anti-ageing creams.
This works by simply clicking on the retailer and the mirror will take you directly to their web page, allowing you to buy the products directly from the retailer there and then.
Kiran, a shopaholic says: “I would normally spend hours online searching for the right creams for my skin, I can’t believe this mirror can do that for me!”
The mirror can also be hooked up to your calendar and suggest possible looks for different occasions, from how you would look at work, your niece’s wedding, dinner with the in-laws and so on.
The mirror is there to help you for every event you have.
The smart mirror can also suggest different food and drink recipes that you can whip up to keep you looking fresh, youthful and gorgeous.
Once again if you don’t have the ingredients suggested, no problem, as you can also buy these by tapping on the links provided.
Panasonic have outdone themselves here with their smart mirror. They understand the demand in our society for women to look good and have used their technological prowess to come up with an innovative creation.
While nothing is known yet on when the mirror will come out or the cost, it is safe to say that there will be many women around the world wanting to try this out. The Panasonic Smart Mirror will undeniably take everyday activities like getting ready and applying makeup into the future.
