“I am the wife of a colonel and remove the hurdles"
Police registered a case against a woman on May 21, 2020, after she abused police officers while claiming to be a colonel’s wife.
The incident was captured on video and it went viral.
It showed the woman harassing officials and proclaiming herself to be the “wife of a colonel” after they refused to let her vehicle pass through a blockade on the Hazara Motorway.
The incident reportedly happened on May 20. Officers had asked her to turn her car around because the road was blocked for construction.
However, the unnamed woman verbally abused and shouted at the officers, even threatening to run them over.
This prompted eyewitnesses to film the incident.
She claimed that she is married to a colonel and that she would get them fired for not removing the blocks from the road.
The woman told them: “I am the wife of a colonel and remove the hurdles from my way.”
The woman had been with another man, reportedly her son. She shouted at the officers to move out of her way. The woman even got out of her car and moved an oil drum which had been placed on the road.
It was an incident which came to a shocking conclusion when the woman got into her car and began to drive off, forcing one official to get out of the way to avoid being hit.
The woman then drove off.
“This country is not ours, I’m not gonna stay here” words of my close friend after seeing this video.

Social media users were not happy with the woman’s behaviour. One user wrote:
“This superiority complex must end now. A soldier should act like a soldier instead of being perceptive as a God.”
“How this low life and ominous lady rebuked these police officials must be condemned hard and that colonel have to be strictly retributed.”
A case was subsequently registered against the woman. Mansehra Police released a statement which said:
“In this regard, an FIR has been lodged against the woman at the Mansehra City police station.”
According to the statement, the police officials had been employed on a contract basis. They showed “extreme restraint, composure and calm despite being insulted”.
The statement went on to say that no official has been suspended nor has a case been registered against them.
It added: “It is further clarified that no one is above the law, and in this case, the law will take its due course.”
The case was registered following a complaint by Assistant Sub-Inspector Aurangzeb.
He had been on duty at the motorway, where one section is under construction.
He said: “Despite this, some vehicles pass through which causes problems. It was my duty to stop the cars and prevent them from going forward.”
The woman was booked under Sections 34 (acts done by several people), Section 186 (Obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), Section 353 (Assault to deter public servant from duty), Section 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
