Kanika Kapoor is being trolled online after an old photo of her meeting Prince Charles went viral.
Social media users are wrongly accusing her of infecting Charles with Coronavirus.
The singer became the first Indian celebrity to test positive for COVID-19 after returning to India from the UK on March 20, 2020.
Kanika took to social media to reveal the news. She is currently undergoing treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow.
Professor RK Dhiman stated that the singer’s treatment will continue until at least two tests show her negative.
However, the singer became the subject of trolling after Prince Charles tested positive for Coronavirus.
A statement was released on March 25, 2020, confirming that the Royal had the virus.
“The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days, as usual.
“The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus.
“In accordance with government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland.”
The false accusations started when social media users came across a picture of Kanika meeting Charles.
Even though it takes 14 days for the symptoms to show, online trolls attacked Kanika for supposedly infecting the Royal Family member.
One person simply wrote: “Kanika Kapoor infection.”
Another user had shared the pictures and claimed that Kanika was responsible for infecting Prince Charles. The person wrote:
“Kanika Kapoor spreading love and care all around the world. With HRH Prince Charles here who was diagnosed with COVID-19 today.”
One user had said that it was a measure of revenge before going on to wish the Prince of Wales a speedy recovery.
“Prince Charles didn’t know that Kanika Kapoor visited for revenge.”
“Wish quick recovery though.”

Despite the trolls attacking her, they were proved wrong when it was revealed that the picture was actually taken in 2015, four years before the deadly virus existed.
Kanika had been attending a royal event when she met the Prince.
While Kanika undergoes treatment, it was revealed that she went to Lucknow after returning from London where she attended several parties and gatherings.
As a result, several celebrities criticised the singer for her negligence as well as her allegedly hiding her travel details.
Reports have indicated that during the social gatherings, Kanika came into contact with around 266 people. Over 60 of them have been tested and all the results came back negative.
