Ananya Panday has borne the brunt of the criticism when it comes to the negativity surrounding Liger.
The film was released on August 25, 2022, to negative reviews.
Many reviews criticised the poor story, which is currently rated 2.8 on IMDb.
Much of the criticism surrounding the film has been directed at Ananya Panday and her acting skills.
Some people are so angry that they have asked filmmakers to stop casting her.
One wrote: “Liger is definitely a bad movie. But what made it an unbearable torture film for me is the acting of Ananya Panday. Please avoid casting Bollywood actresses in Telugu films.”
Another said: “What acting is that struggle queen Ananya Panday, give her an Oscar.”
Others pointed out a scene where Vijay Deverakonda’s titular character tells Ananya’s Tanya that he loves her.
Netizens mocked her apparent struggle to give a convincing expression.
One user wrote: “Ananya Panday’s thoughts right now, ‘Haters gonna hate I can touch my nose with my tongue, that’s my talent Karan Johar’. Masterclass product she has been.”

Another scene that was mocked showed Ananya’s character stating that she was going to Hollywood to pursue her acting career.
Social media users simultaneously laughed at the dialogue and Ananya Panday.
One wrote: “Like seriously. Act in Bollywood first sister.”
Another said: “I am still laughing. What do you mean?
“Hollywood actresses like Scarlett Johansson, Emma Watson etc will have to compete with Ananya Panday now…”
A third asked: “What made the writers of this film write such dialogue?”

Self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan also criticised Ananya’s acting in the film.
In his review, he said that she was only cast for her presence in songs and dance moves, not acting as she does not know how to act.
KRK went on to say that her father Chunky Pandey, who plays her father in Liger, also had a disappointing performance.
KRK also said that both father and daughter can compete to see who is the worse actor.
But while Ananya received a lot of hate for her Liger performance, some stated that lead star Vijay Deverakonda was equally disappointing.
One wrote: “People are mocking Ananya Panday, obviously she acted horribly… but the fact that Ananya charged only Rs. 3 crore while Vijay Deverakonda charged Rs. 35 crore for his horrible acting.”
Another questioned: “Yes, the movie is bad. Yes, the direction is bad. Yes, the acting of everyone in the cast is bad.
“Then wtf Vijay Deverakonda is getting sympathy after all his arrogance, and puri, Ananya and Karan are getting trashed? How come Vijay gets an easy pass?”
This is not the first time Ananya has been trolled.
She has frequently been called a “product of nepotism”, starting when she made her debut in Student of the Year 2.
