Mandana Karimi’s recent social media post has got her in trouble.
The actress earlier made headlines when she made some shocking statements during her stint on Lock Upp.
However, this time, she is receiving flak from social media users after she posted a video of herself twerking in a burqa.
This has angered the netizens who asked her not to disrespect the hijab.
Mandana Karimi shared a behind-the-scenes clip from her shoot in Istanbul. In the video, the actress is seen twerking and dancing while wearing a burqa.
She shared the clip while dancing to the tunes of The Beatnuts’ Se Acabo Remix at a clothing shop.
Along with the video, Mandana Karimi wrote: “I wish shooting with a hijab was as easy as this BTS NO HATES just bunch of people making a film.. #istanbul #hijab.”
Mandana Karimi’s video irked several social media users. Many slammed her for ‘disrespecting’ the hijab.
Soon after Mandana uploaded her video, it went viral on the internet.
One user wrote: “Shame! Do not disrespect the hijab like this. At least, think once before doing such actions.”
Another added: “Don’t disrespect the hijab.”
However, there was a small section which did not object to the twerking.

An Instagram user asked her “not to pay attention to those hateful comments” as there was nothing wrong with what she was doing.
Mandana Karimi is an Iranian actress and model based in India. She appeared as a lead in the Bollywood film, Bhaag Johnny.
She also participated in Bigg Boss 9 and became the second runner-up in 2015.
The actress was most recently seen on Ekta Kapoor’s captive-based reality show, Lock Upp.
During her stint in Lock Upp, she hit headlines after revealing that she was in a relationship with a popular filmmaker around the time of her divorce from Gaurav Gupta.
She even got pregnant but the filmmaker asked her to abort the baby. Following her revelation, many wondered who the filmmaker was.
Some believed her secret lover was Anurag Kashyap, with one person pointing out that in 2020, Mandana had thanked Anurag for helping her when she had no work.
As a result, the user speculated that they soon had a relationship.
Speaking to ETimes, Mandana said: “I definitely want to add here that it’s not the name that’s going around, which is Anurag Kashyap.
“Anurag was my friend and we are still friends.
“I have seen the headlines. It’s not done. It’s very unethical and unfortunate.”
Mandana Karimi started her career as an air hostess and later quit that job to pursue a career in modelling.
She has appeared in TV commercials with stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor.
