Bollywood producer Imtiaz Khatri’s home and office have both been searched by India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as part of a drugs raid.

The probe was in connection with the recent narcotics recovery on a Cordelia Cruises ship on Saturday, October 2, 2021, which Aryan Khan was arrested for.

A number of substances including cocaine, MDMA and Mephedrone are all believed to have been consumed during a party which was being held aboard the ship.

Khatri was summoned to appear before the NCB at their base in Mumbai following the raid on the morning of Saturday, October 9, 2021, according to news agency ANI.

In a tweet, they said: “Raid being conducted at the residence and office of film producer Imtiaz Khatri in Bandra area of Mumbai.

“Narcotics Control Bureau summons film producer Imtiaz Khatri to appear before it today in Mumbai.”

However, this is certainly not the first time that the film producer’s name has cropped up during a high profile drugs case.

He was previously linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput after lawyer Ashok Saraogi had accused Khatri of supplying the actor with narcotics.

At the time, Saraogi said: “All these drugs are supplied by the topmost person in the trade – Imtiaz Khatri.

“He is a big person and has influence not just in Bollywood but also in the ministries.

“He is really close with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

“So, Imtiaz Khatri has long been in the trade of drugs in the film industry.”

“I meet so many people who work in Bollywood and take drugs on a regular basis.”

A video showing Khatri and Rajput leaving a party together surfaced online shortly after.

But the party was found to have happened four to five years ago.

The actor tragically passed away in June 2020.

More recently, the film producer and businessman’s name was mentioned during an interrogation before a man called Achit Kumar was arrested for possessing cannabis and supplying drugs.

Khatri is the founder of VVIP Universal Entertainment which has a number of Bollywood movies under its banner.

He also worked as a producer on the Marathi movie Hrudayantar (2017).

He also owns a construction company called INL Infrastructure as well as a celebrity cricket team in Mumbai which participates in the INK Cricket Blast tournament.

Imtiaz Khatri has been linked to Sushmita Sen and Jacqueline Fernandez in the past but this has not yet been confirmed.
