"The time has come for us to be smarter than monkeys."
Indian actor and model Milind Soman has urged people to be “smarter than monkeys” as he picked up litter on his visit to a Shiva temple.
The actor has certainly done his part to help improve the environment on Monday, November 16, 2020.
Milind Soman shared his experience with his social media followers and fans. He further added that when he reached the temple, he was informed that there were no dustbins around.
Soman posted a picture of himself holding bags full of rubbish and another at the temple.
He also shared a third picture of himself with his wife Ankita Konwar and mother Usha Soman who also joined him on the trek. He captioned it:
“Small trek to a Shiva temple at the top of a hill today with @ankita_Earthy and @somanusha To make it more fun and to show my respect to the deity, I picked up as much garbage as I could along the holy trail.
“Strangely, at the temple I was told by the caretaker that there were no dustbins because of monkeys throwing the garbage out of the bins, and all the garbage would be burnt in the forest.”
Milind Soman continued to make two points as he requested people and manufacturers to act smart. He said:
“Point no.1 – I really think the time has come for us to be smarter than monkeys.
“Point no.2 – Food companies really need to start using bio degradable packaging so that more people can eat more junk, guiltfree.”

Soman was applauded for his efforts by his fans on Instagram. One user wrote: “Kudos to you.”
A second said: “Love the human you are.” A third commented: “Loved both points.”
Another fan said: “Point number 2 …. I dream that day!” with a fifth saying: “Well said.”
Recently, Milind Soman made headlines for his nude photo on a beach in Goa.
The actor shared a nude picture of himself running along the beach to celebrate his birthday. He captioned it:
“Happy birthday to me!”
While many of his fans appreciated and adored the picture in the comment section, Milind Soman was charged by police for the same.
The model’s photo led to a police complaint by the political party, Goa Suraksha Manch.
The political party accused Soman of indulging in public obscenity as well as tainting Goa’s image.
