Actor, model and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman has revealed how he stays in peak physical condition.

The 55-year-old currently sits on the judging panel of Supermodel of the Year 2, which is due to air on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

The theme of the show’s second season is #UnapologeticallyYou, which encourages people to embrace their individuality.

With that in mind, Milind Soman has opened up about his individual fitness routine, and how he stays in shape at the age of 55.

In a recent interview with India Today, Soman said that, when it comes to fitness, age is just a number.

He said: “I am sure that if anyone starts now, then at 55 they will also manage.

“This can actually be a great time to adopt certain habits and to prioritise your life, because health and fitness are important.

“Over a period of time, one can achieve any level of fitness that one wants. I’ve been doing it for the past 50 years.”

According to Milind Soman, consistency is the key to achieving your fitness goals. He continued:

“Ever since I was six-seven years old, I started swimming and, for 50 years, I’ve been fit because I am consistent.

“Whether I have two minutes, 20 minutes or two hours, I’ll do something that is challenging.

“It’s not about how fast you are or how much weight you’re losing. The key is to keep moving.”

However, Milind Soman does believe that rest is as equally important as exercise, and it is crucial that breaks are taken to recharge.

Soman said: “Laziness is a part of human nature and it is not wrong.

“A person should conserve their energy for more important things.

“And exercise is one of the important things in life.

“Most people waste their energy and end up not exercising.”

Currently, Milind Soman is taking part in India’s annual Unity Run. He is challenging himself to run 416 kilometres in eight days, from Mumbai to the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.

His challenge began on Sunday, August 15, 2021, and will finish on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Soman recently completed the fifth day of his challenge and took to Instagram to commemorate it.

In a post from Thursday, August 19, 2021, he said:

“Day 5. Flooded roads, harsh sun, all kinds of ups and downs.

“But when the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
