Muhammed Mahfooz, aged 33, of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, was jailed for nine-and-a-half years for subjecting a woman to a vile rape attack which lasted one hour.

Leeds Crown Court heard he carried out the attack as revenge as the woman had previously reported him to the police for assault.

Mahfooz had been reported to police in late April 2020 for an alleged assault.

He was arrested, denied the offence in an interview and was conditionally bailed before getting the woman alone in a house on May 11, 2020.

Mark McKone, prosecuting, said: “The prosecution suggest that what the defendant did then was motivated by his anger that he had been reported to the police.

“He took the complainant into the bedroom, took off his clothes and told the complainant to get undressed.”

It was heard that the victim was scared as she knew Mahfooz was angry. He forced her to perform oral sex on him.

The victim thought his body was “so dirty” and told Mahfooz she felt sick and did not want to do it.

He then raped the woman anally as she cried in pain, begging him to stop. However, he continued the rape attack and told her to be quiet.

Mahfooz also performed oral sex on her and forced her to perform oral sex on him again for a few minutes.

He then raped her vaginally as she continued telling him she did not want to do this.

During the attack, he slapped and punched the woman while she scratched his face.

Following the rape, the victim’s phone rang and she told the caller that she was not safe. The police were subsequently called and Mahfooz was arrested.

In the police car, the woman cried and later said: “He used me like an animal taking revenge.”

The woman suffered scrapes, bruises and red marks on her body.

The next day, Mahfooz said in his police interview that he and the woman had consensual sex twice. He said he thought at one point during the first incident that the woman was in pain but she did not tell him to stop.

Mahfooz alleged that the woman tried to force him to have sex with her for a second time. He claimed that she would call the police if he did not comply.

During the second interview, Mahfooz was shown the victim’s video interview and after every question, he said that he had already answered the question.

He was then shown a body map of the woman’s injuries and could not explain their origin.

In a victim impact statement, the woman said that as a result of the rape attack, she suffers from low self-esteem and anxiety.

Following a trial, Mahfooz was convicted of three counts of rape. He has no previous convictions.

The Examiner reported that he was jailed for nine-and-a-half years. Mahfooz was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life and made subject to an indefinite restraining order.
