“Here’s to some good old nostalgia"

While many celebrities enjoyed the first day of the New Year by sharing glimpses of 2021 on social media, Mahira Khan shared videos from her teenage years.

The Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay star penned a post reminiscing about her teenage self with clips dating back to 2002.

In the video shared with her 8.5 million followers, Mahira can be seen with her friends in a car.

In another clip, a 19-year-old Mahira poses and dances in front of a mirror.

In the caption of the video, Mahira wrote:

“On the eve of this new year… I’m sharing something (countless videos of my teenage years) that was lost and found god knows how many years later, a few days back.

“Was it a sign? A reminder of what we once were? Untainted by this world, unaware of what our future would hold for us.

“20 years ago what made us happy? Who were our heroes? What made us sad? What made us laugh so hard?

“Maybe it’s not such a bad thing to go back once in a while.

“Here’s to some good old nostalgia, here’s to remembering that we were all just happy about being around friends and dancing around like fools.

“Here’s to who we have become because of that. Here’s to the children in us. Here’s to never quite growing up.

“Here’s to looking back sometimes and looking ahead always.”

Mahira Khan concluded: “May there be love and joy. The kind of joy that makes our hearts smile. May the coming year be a peaceful and a healthy one for all. Ameen.”

On the work front, Mahira will next be seen in director Nabeel Qureshi’s crime-comedy Quaid e Azam Zindabad.

The highly-anticipated film has finally been given a release date, with Quaid e Azam Zindabad set to premiere in July 2022.

The official trailer of the Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa starrer was released in October 2020.

While not revealing much about the plot, the teaser gave audiences a glimpse of the action-packed sequences the crime-comedy film sets to offer.

On working with Fahad Mustafa for the first time, Mahira Khan said:

“I really wanted to work with him but there just wasn’t any time.

“I can’t even begin to tell you the number of projects the two of us have been offered together but the timing has never been right.”
