"unfortunately Whitney and I's relationship has come to an end."

Love Island’s Lochan Nowacki and Whitney Adebayo have confirmed their split, bringing an end to their two-year relationship.

The couple, both 27, met during the 2023 series of the hit ITV2 show.

Whitney entered the villa as a bombshell before coupling up with Lochan. The pair went on to reach the final and were tipped to win, but finished in second place.

In an Instagram Story, Lochan Nowacki addressed the speculation that had been swirling for weeks.

He posted: “Hey guys, unfortunately Whitney and I’s relationship has come to an end.

“Thank you for all the love and support that you’ve shown us through our journey, we’re forever grateful.”

Whitney posted the exact same message on her own account, only replacing Lochan’s name with her own.

Break-up rumours had been circulating for weeks after a series of subtle signs caught fans’ attention.

Whitney had uploaded a cryptic TikTok video, lip-syncing to Mariah the Scientist’s song ‘All For Me’.

In it, she mouthed the lyrics: “What does she have on me?” while text appeared on screen reading: “She doesn’t wear wigs.”

Whitney captioned the post: “Oh yikes”.

The move left fans convinced it was a hint at cheating.

One fan commented: “I fear they’ve broken up.”

Another wrote on Reddit: “Whitney’s new TikTok and her cryptic snap stories from a few hours earlier, I think her and Lochan broke up.”

In March 2025, Lochan fuelled breakup speculation by skipping the premiere of Inside, a reality show hosted by the Sidemen of which Whitney was a contestant.

Fans also noticed he hadn’t posted anything to support Whitney while she was on the show.

The breakup comes shortly after the couple took a major step in their relationship.

Whitney had mentioned “new beginnings” and it was later revealed that she and Lochan had moved in together.

Previously opening up about her evolving perspective, Whitney said:

“The baddy aesthetic isn’t what you lot said it was. The truth be told, baddies don’t get the good guys, baddies get the rappers and trappers.

“I want a solid king, I’ve already got that.

“But I want him to look at me like this is a trophy wife, not like, she’s going to spend all my money.”

“I really want to step into my feminine energy and be more vulnerable.

“The big V word, and if you are from a Nigerian household, you already know that was beaten out of us from age 2.

“So it is going to take a lot of work but I’m willing to do the work.”

Despite the split, both stars have expressed gratitude for the support shown to them during and after their time on the show.

They join a growing list of Love Island couples who struggled to make it work outside the villa.
