Love Island ex-Bombshell reveals what Shakira is Really Like

A former Love Island bombshell has revealed what Shakira Khan is really like after fans slammed the ITV show’s portrayal of her as part of a “mean girl edit”.

The Grafties episode, which producers had billed as the “messiest night in showbiz”, delivered the chaos it promised.

Shakira and close friend Toni won Best Double Act, but instead of celebration, tears were shed.

Harry’s behaviour was also called out, and many viewers felt the footage shown of Shakira and Toni was unfairly harsh.

The Grafties, a notorious Love Island twist, broadcasts Islanders’ private moments to the villa, with the public determining the winner of each category. And the programme certainly delivered the drama.

Fans wasted no time accusing producers of bias, particularly with how Shakira has been portrayed.

Now, ex-Islander Andrada Pop, who entered the villa during Casa Amor and briefly coupled up with Ben Holbrough, opened up about her time with Shakira in the villa.

Andrada revealed: “I feel like Shakira has been really put out there to be very confrontational and mean girl or whatnot, and I just feel like certain bits that maybe people don’t see is like the day when I came in there, she was so caring.

“She took care of me, she took me under her wing.”

Andrada revealed that Shakira would regularly lend her clothes and makeup, and would check in to make sure she was okay.

She added: “I feel like that’s the side of Shakira that we don’t see because we see the side where she’s very confrontational and stands on her business.

“But she has a very, very soft side and she’s very loving.”

The comments have only added fuel to a growing backlash from Love Island fans who feel Shakira is being misrepresented.

One viewer wrote: “Shakira isn’t a mean girl. Most of us can see it despite of the ‘edit’.”

Another added: “Shakira is amazing and she does not deserve this!”

A third said: “Shakira is a queen, we see it, we are mad at the producers!”

One user summed up the general sentiment:

“I’m so happy one of the islanders has said this, I’m sick of Shakira getting a mean girl edit.”

This comes after it was reported that Shakira threatened to quit the show.

But the ITV welfare team talked her into staying.

Fans have expressed concern after recent episodes featured Shakira in tears, with friends Toni and Yasmin there to comfort her.
