"We had a very happy married life but Imran Khan ruined it."

Khawar Maneka has revealed that he was suspicious of Imran Khan’s late-night calls with his wife Bushra Bibi.

Bushra reassured Khawar that the calls were just “spiritual healing”.

However, Bushra would end up divorcing Khawar and marrying Imran Khan.

Khawar revealed: “They would talk for hours on the mobile during the night.

“All of this was happening without my permission. And whenever I questioned Bushra, she would say that it is a matter related to spiritual healing.

“Our marriage lasted for 28 years. We had a very happy married life but Imran Khan ruined it.”

Khawar’s mother had warned him about Khan, recalling:

“My mother used to say that Imran Khan is not a good person, don’t let him come in the house.”

Khan and Bushra then began secretly calling each other.

According to Khawar, Khan regularly visited his home at night to see Bushra.

At one point, Khawar Maneka claimed he became so upset by Khan’s frequent visits that he and a servant forcibly removed him.

Khawar told Samaa: “We were happily married. But Imran Khan would come to my house in my absence and sit there for hours with Bushra.

“One time I called my servant and asked him why my calls to Bushra’s phone were not being received. He told me that Imran Khan is here.

“So I told him to go in the room while I stayed on the call.

“I scolded Bushra and told Khan to leave my house. I told my servant to make sure he leaves immediately.”

Detailing their relationship, Khawar said Bushra would speak to Khan on a phone number given to her by Farah Gogi at the PTI chief’s request.

Bushra eventually separated from Khawar.

One day, Khawar received a text message from Farah Gogi, requesting him to divorce Pinky (Bushra’s alias).

He said:

“I went to Bushra and asked her do you want a divorce? She bowed his head and did not answer.”

Khawar sent the divorce papers to Bushra on November 14, 2017.

Bushra married Imran Khan just over a month later.

But Khawar said he did not know about the marriage until media outlets reported it.

He stated: “I and my children were not aware of this marriage [..]when Geo and The News broke the news of the marriage, I denied it.”

Pictures of the wedding were not released until February 2018 in an attempt to keep the marriage out of the public eye.
