The shooting schedule for the film will begin soon.
Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj, the much-loved actor-director duo of the Tamil film industry, are set to join hands once again.
The popular star and talented filmmaker’s upcoming project, which has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, is expected to go on floors on December 5, 2022.
Lokesh, who had taken a break from social media to focus on the scriptwriting of Thalapathy 67, made a comeback recently.
Now, according to sources close to the Thalapathy Vijay starrer, the shooting schedule for the film will begin soon.
Though there is no official information yet, sources said that Anirudh will be the music director for the film, produced by Seven Screen Studios.
Meanwhile, the latest news that has hit Kollywood like a storm is that Kamal Haasan has been approached by Lokesh Kanagaraj to play a powerful character in Thalapathy 67.
If rumours are to be believed, it will be the second collaboration for Lokesh and Kamal Haasan after the blockbuster Vikram.
Sources said if the news turns out to be true, fans will get to see the two biggest superstars of the era sharing screen space for the first time ever.
According to the latest updates, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is planning to have an extensive shooting schedule of 170 days, for Thalapathy Vijay’s ambitious project.
The shooting will take place in multiple schedules, that will span over eight months.
After wrapping up the shooting, Lokesh and his team will dedicate at least 3-4 months to the post-production works of the film.
With this, it is also confirmed that Thalapathy 67 will not hit theatres in 2023.
Thalapathy 67 will also star Trisha Krishnan, who will be playing the female lead in the project.
The rest of the star cast includes many popular names including Sanjay Dutt, director Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Narain, Arjun Das, and others.
On the work front, Kamal is currently hosting Bigg Boss Tamil 6 while simultaneously acting in Shankar’s Indian 2.
He will soon begin shooting for a new actioner KH233 directed by H. Vinoth.
The film also has Vijay Sethupathi playing a pivotal role.
Kamal’s next after that KH234 will be directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Red Giant Movies.
On the other hand, Vijay has completed the shooting for his family entertainer Varisu directed by Vamshi Paidipally which also features Rashmika Mandanna.
The film produced by Dil Raju is slated for release in Tamil and Telugu on January 12, 2023, ahead of the Pongal holidays.
