"Fashion and fitness have always been about staying true to yourself."
New Balance has appointed actor and style icon Janhvi Kapoor as its first Indian brand ambassador, marking a major milestone in the brand’s expanding Indian market presence.
The athleticwear brand views Kapoor’s rise across film and fashion as a reflection of individuality, resilience, and a fearless commitment to personal expression.
Kapoor’s growing fashion influence includes walking in designer Gaurav Gupta’s 2025 bridal couture show in Miami, further cementing her global style credentials.
In a brand statement, New Balance highlighted Kapoor’s versatility as an actor and her strong influence among young audiences across India.
The company also cited her advocacy for self-confidence and authenticity as closely aligned with its mission to empower people on and off the field.
Kapoor shared her excitement in a statement, saying, “I’ve always admired New Balance for its dedication to innovation and celebrating individuality.”
She added, “It’s a brand that encourages you to own your story, and that’s something I deeply connect with.”
“For me, fashion and fitness have always been about staying true to yourself. New Balance allows me to express that confidence and authenticity,” Kapoor continued.
“I’m truly honoured to be part of the New Balance family and excited for this journey together,” she concluded.
Together, Kapoor and New Balance aim to build a more creative, inclusive, and confident culture around sport and fashion that reflects the spirit of modern India.
Radeshwer Davar, country manager for India at New Balance, said the partnership represents a shared creative vision between the brand and the actor.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Janhvi to the New Balance family,” Davar said in a statement.
“Our sponsorships are always coauthored, rooted in shared vision and mutual creativity, and Janhvi brings not just influence but genuine inspiration,” he added.
Davar noted that Kapoor’s passion, drive, and individuality closely mirror the ethos that defines New Balance in global and local markets.
“She’s someone who continuously evolves, and together we’ll explore new dimensions of fashion and sports for our audiences in India,” he said.
Stuart Henwood, senior director at New Balance for the Middle East, Africa, and India region, highlighted India’s growing importance for the brand.
“India is one of the fast-growing markets across the MEAI region for New Balance,” Henwood said in a statement.
He added that Janhvi’s individuality and entrepreneurial spirit align strongly with the brand’s long-term vision for India.
Henwood said Kapoor will play a key role in strengthening connections with consumers across India and the wider MEAI region.
“Her energy, style, and commitment to excellence reflect the very spirit of our brand, and we’re delighted to welcome Jahnvi to the New Balance family,” he added.
