restrictions indicate that the Indian version could be launching
It looks as though PUBG Mobile India is not too far away as thousands of gamers eagerly await its relaunch.
This comes after the PUBG Corporation stated that it will not allow players in India to play the Korean and Japanese versions of the popular game.
The battle royale shooter has different region-specific versions and PUBG Mobile Korea is seen as one of the most popular versions of the game.
However, developers have said that this version in India can only be played until June 30, 2021.
This will prevent players from enjoying the Korean version of the game, which is a must as PUBG is banned in India.
This was due to reports of people in India becoming addicted to the game, with children spending hours on the game and spending their parents’ money on microtransactions.
There were also data privacy concerns.
These restrictions indicate that the Indian version could be launching soon.
The developers had confirmed their intention of putting up an Indian subsidiary and will launch an Indian version as soon as possible.
While no release date has been announced, the launch could come in June, shortly before the Korean version is restricted.
Indications of the release could be soon as a teaser video was released on YouTube before being deleted. The video said that the game would be releasing soon.
In November 2020, it was announced that PUBG Mobile India would replace the original game in the country.
March 2021 saw the government approve the game’s relaunch.
The India-specific version is said to be more toned-down, with less gore and violence.
The idea is to offer a healthier gameplay experience compared to the original game.
But as no gameplay footage has been released, it is not known what the game will be like.
Suggestions that PUBG Mobile India will be released soon are evident as there has been an increase in job listings being posted by the developers on LinkedIn.
The company is looking for an Investment and Strategy Analyst who will be responsible for mergers and acquisitions in India.
A job for Product Manager was also posted recently.
It is worth noting that PUBG currently has six job listings.
While no announcement on the Indian version of PUBG has been made, it is heavily rumoured that the game will be released soon.
