Krafton is returning to the original name
South Korean company Krafton has announced that PUBG: New State is available to pre-register in India.
The game will be available on the App Store and Google Play.
According to the App Store, the new mobile title will launch as a “free-to-play” game on October 8, 2021.
Pre-registrations opened in February 2021 but not in India. By April 2021, it had received more than 10 million.
Indian gamers can search for PUBG: New State on their respective app store and pre-register.
This will notify them when the game is released. It will also automatically download on devices that are connected with WiFi.
Krafton says that PUBG: New State will bring the original game’s experience with realistic graphics.
A game for Indian users has been in the works ever since the original PUBG was banned in the country in September 2020.
The game was renamed Battlegrounds Mobile India and several features inside the game were changed.
It was reported that Krafton asked gamers not to use PUBG interchangeably with the new title.
But with PUBG: New State, Krafton is returning to the original name of the popular battle royale game.
This indicates that the publisher may have clarified any alleged data privacy concerns that were the reason behind the original game’s ban.
PUBG: New State will reportedly be set in the year 2051 and it will take place on a new map called Troi.
It will also bring new weapons and vehicles that are different compared to the vehicles that were seen in the original PUBG.
Gameplay images show that the new game has a similar look to Call of Duty: Warzone, another popular battle royale game.
Another new addition is the in-game customisation that will allow players to modify their weapons within a match.
This is something that was similarly seen in Apex Legends.
One hundred players battle against one another in order to be the last person standing.
Upgraded mechanics include dodging, drone calls and support requests.
Within the game, there will be various objectives that can help turn the tables, even for players in a weak position.
In a statement, PUBG: New State Executive Producer Minkyu Park said that the team is doing its “best to offer a battle royale experience” based on a stable service for Indian gamers.
The company has reinforced its commitment to enhancing Indian gaming, esports and IT entertainment with the establishment of its Indian office.
Krafton has said it has invested $70 million in the Indian IT sector and in gaming companies.
