Is a Sequel to ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ on the Way?

Aamir Khan participated in an interesting Q&A session with fans in which he divulged into a possible sequel to Andaz Apna Apna.

The occasion was the superstar’s 59th birthday on March 14, 2024.

Andaz Apna Apna was a cult comedy when it was released in 1994. It is currently the only film to star Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

While interacting with fans on Instagram, Aamir said:

“I’ve just recently found out that Rajkumar Santoshi is working on Andaz Apna Apna 2. The news is quite new.

“I think all of us will enjoy watching the film.”

However, Aamir did not specify whether he and Salman would be returning for the new film.

Interestingly, Aamir and Salman – known to be good friends – did not get on during the making of Andaz Apna Apna.

Delving into this, Aamir had said in an interview:

“In Andaz Apna Apna, I had a very bad experience working with Salman.

“I didn’t like him – I found him rude and inconsiderate.”

Andaz Apna Apna 2 was not the only interesting aspect that Aamir Khan discussed in the interaction.

He also confirmed that Genelia D’Souza Deshmukh was working with him in the upcoming Sitaare Zameen Par.

The movie is scheduled to be released during Christmas 2024.

A fan asked whether Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan would ever appear onscreen together.

Aamir replied that the three stars had talked about the same when they met at the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

He elaborated: “We spoke about working together. We think it’s about time it happened.

“We thought we should do it for ourselves and for the audience.”

Aamir is currently enjoying the euphoria of his production Laapataa Ladies (2024).

Directed by his ex-wife Kiran Rao, the film explored the story of two brides who lose their respective husbands at a train station.

The film has been loved by fans and the film industry alike.

Praising the film, Salman Khan tweeted:

“Just saw Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies. Bravo, Kiran. I really enjoyed it and so did my father.”

“Superb job. When will you work with me?”

Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir are currently working on Lahore 1947 together.

The film stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol and Abhimanyu Singh.

The Lagaan star is serving as the film’s producer and the shooting of the project is currently underway.

With the prospect of a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna and so much content for the audience to anticipate, Aamir Khan is certainly hitting the ball out of the park.
