"I just wanted to break down WHY these farmers are concerned"
An Instagrammer has released a video explaining the reasons behind the ongoing farmers’ protest in India.
The video was created by Karan Menon, a comedian from the US.
Menon’s video aims to help people to understand why Indian farmers are protesting.
It attempts to explain the situation between farmers and the government before and after the introduction of the new farm laws.
The video features conversations between three ‘characters’, representing farmers, the Indian Government, and private buyers.
The satirical sketch has been going viral since its debut on Instagram on Monday, February 8, 2021.
The video also appears on TikTok.

Karan Menon captioned the Instagram post: “Farmers Protest Explained.
“You may have seen Rihanna tweet about this and you may have been confused.
“This doesn’t cover all the details so definitely do some googling yourself, but I just wanted to break down WHY these farmers are concerned and protesting.
“Hope this helps inform, pls share and spread awareness of what’s going on.”
Since Karan Menon posted the video, it has gone viral across the globe and reached one million views on Instagram and TikTok in just one day.
Menon’s video has also been successful on Twitch and Discord.
In celebration of the video’s success, Menon shared another photo to his Instagram announcing a recent interview he did with The Economic Times.
The announcement came on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Menon captioned the image:
“Got interviewed by @the_economic_times for an article on foreign creators talking about the farmers protest
“Link in bio – also why you’re there | HIGHLY recommend watching the featured video by @lewlater.
“Probably one of the most sensitive, unbiased explanations of the whole issue you can find.
“Thank you to the author @shephalibhatt, and thank you all for sharing this video around #famersprotest.”
Despite Karan Menon aiming to explain the farmers’ protest, some have argued his logic and accuracy.
Menon disclaims that people should do more research on the farmers’ protest, however, many took to Twitter to call him out on the inaccuracies in his video.
One Twitter user replied to the video saying:
“The scale of BS here is mind-blowing! I feel sorry for the people who’d form an opinion based on this.”
The response came on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
It's high time you get educated.

A third simply stated: “Not accurate at all.”
Indian farmers have been protesting the repeal of three new agricultural laws since November 2020.
The protest has been receiving international attention, and many famous names have been taking to social media to voice their opinions, including Rihanna, Kangana Ranaut, Lilly Singh, and Justin Trudeau.
