A wedding in Rajasthan was called off after the groom’s family received an obscene video of the bride.
The groom’s father stopped the marriage and claimed the 23-year-old bride was having an affair.
When questioned, he said he had proof, revealing he was sent a video appearing to show the young woman having sex with another man.
The wedding had been scheduled to take place in Sikar on November 10, 2024.
When it was called off, the groom’s family raised questions about the bride’s character.
The woman’s grandfather confronted her about the explicit video. Things took a dark turn when she said she had been raped by a man she met in college.
The woman explained that after the assault, Zeeshan began blackmailing her.
It was reported that the bride and Zeeshan used to study at a college in Surat, Gujarat.
She said they were initially friends but Zeeshan allegedly began stalking her and taking pictures of her without consent.
The woman also claimed his behaviour towards her was inappropriate.
According to the woman, Zeeshan’s behaviour escalated when he demanded that he go to a hotel with her.
The woman claimed that if she refused, he would edit the pictures of her and send them to her family.
At the hotel, he forced himself on her and filmed the assault.
Afterwards, he threatened to post the video if she did not give him money.
When Zeeshan found out the woman was set to marry another man, he warned her not to marry him.
But when she decided to go ahead with the wedding, Zeeshan sent the obscene video to the groom’s family under the guise that she was having an affair.
This led to her wedding being cancelled.
After revealing her ordeal, her grandfather filed a Zero FIR against the accused at Kotwali Police Station in the Charu district.
The FIR was later transferred to Limbayat police in Surat.
Zeeshan was booked for rape, extortion and voyeurism by the police. The man’s father, mother and brother were also booked for allegedly abetting the crime.
An investigation is now underway to locate the suspect.
One officer said: “We received the Zero FIR from Kotwali police station of Churu, based on which we registered a case against Jishan and his family members.”
